Role Description OPSPro specializes in providing small businesses and government contractors with compliance and operational support to include HR, Payroll, Accounting, Contracting, and IT. The Accounting Senior Lead position is a part-time, fully remote position. The Senior Accounting Lead position is responsible for a combination of GAAP accounting, government accounting, and the ability to manage complex projects within a fast-paced General Accounting environment. This position interacts with all levels in the accounting department as well as numerous other departments in the company and reports directly to the Accounting Manager. - Maintain the integrity of the financial systems and the maintenance of accounts and records in areas as assets, liabilities, equity, income and expenses. - Review and approve journal entries ensuring compliance in accordance with GAAP and DCAA regulations. - Create journal entries for proper revenue recognition and cost adjustments/allocations. - Oversee and perform month and quarter end closing activities, including journal entries and variance explanations. - Ensure disbursements are within the approved amount and proper supporting documentation has been provided. - Compile and analyze financial information to ensure adjustments and reclassification of costs are made in accordance with GAAP and DCAA regulations. - Review and approve account reconciliations. - Determine proper accounting for unusual or one-off transactions. - Oversee and manage Chart of Account changes. Qualifications - 7+ years accounting experience. - Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Federal Travel Regulations (FTR). - Knowledge of Contract Funding and Value Ceilings. - Experience with handling multiple clients and direct client communication/interaction. - Advanced MS Excel capabilities (Pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
