You must be comfortable being scrappy, resourceful, and hands-on, while also operating cross-functionally to influence the broader organization. What Success Looks Like - 6 Months: - You’ve established a draft playbook around agentic workflow development inclusive of testing, implementation and adoption. - You’ve successfully crafted 3 - 5 workflows that have met adoption criteria. - You are able to quantify the success of 1 - 2 workflows through quantitative and qualitative data. - You have crafted a system to catalogue workflows, skills, and AI tools that enables shorter time-to-value and reduces sprawl. - Your peers, colleagues and 829’s Leadership Team regularly seek your counsel in relation to AI Service Enablement. - 12 Months: - You have a pressure-tested playbook that details the agentic workflow implementation process and ongoing management. - You have established a framework for evaluating the performance of workflows. - You have integrated multiple workflows into a custom frontend in coordination with 829’s Head of Apollo and Engineering Resources. - You have supported the growth of the innovation function as a center of excellence and/or an extension of 829’s Data Platform, Apollo. Responsibilities and Duties - Workflow & Agentic Engineering (60%): - Architect and build proprietary AI agents and automation workflows using company-specific data to drive defensible competitive advantage. - Playbook: - Develop and manage a playbook that includes discovery, pilot, improvement, implementation, adoption and measurement phases to execute work. - Pilots & Proof of Concept: - Lead pilots across multiple disciplines to test approaches and technology, using results to inform production workflows and gain buy-in. - Integrations & Data Pipelines: - Develop and maintain integrations between AI tools and core business systems and advertising platforms, including API builds, validation frameworks, and data pipelines. - SME Collaboration: - Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to ensure solutions and workflows deliver value, enable team members to produce their best work, are usable, and access that appropriate data. - Leadership Collaboration: - Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure that workflows accomplish desired strategic and quality objectives. - Adoption & Enablement: - Ensure that workflows and systems are consistently improved and adopted through systems and cadences that check outputs, measure progress towards goals, and revisit training and adoption mechanisms. - AI Stack Curation / Governance / Documentation (15%): - Own the substrate of 829’s AI Innovation Initiatives. - AI Stack Documentation: - Build and maintain 829's AI stack — tool inventory, vendor strategy, build-vs-buy posture, integration map, and shared-context architecture. - Skill Library: - Develop reusable patterns, agentic workflows, and MCP integrations that provide strategic value and compound across workflows. - Build vs. Buy: - Consult on agency decisions to build workflows and tools vs. buy point solutions to achieve objectives. - General Enablement & Service-Model Translation (25%): - Guide and advise a technically competent team of marketing professionals to achieve shared objectives. - Internal Enablement: - Run lightweight internal training, Office Hours, and troubleshooting clinics to upskill team members on AI-augmented work. - Service-Model Translation: - Advise/consult on revised service-model artifacts: scope-of-work content, pricing implications, policies, and marketing collateral. - Compliance & AI Policy: - Advise and actively contribute to AI policies designed to encourage and enable use, establish SOPs, and mitigate risk to clients, staff, and the business. Qualifications - 5+ years of professional experience with at least 2 years of exposure in the marketing/agency space. - Engineering foundation strong enough to evaluate tools, build agentic workflows, ship MCP integrations, and use coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) as daily workflow. - Working knowledge of security and performance best practices in traditional software and agentic environments. - Hands-on fluency with Python and at least one of TypeScript, SQL, or relevant scripting environments. - Systems thinking: ability to map a business workflow end-to-end and identify where AI creates leverage. - Comfort with ambiguity; you diagnose problems, propose solutions, and move without being told exactly what to build. - Demonstrated track record of shipping production AI work that earned adoption — used, not demoed-and-shelved. - Strong written and verbal communication; can explain technical architecture to a non-technical executive and translate strategic intent into a shipped workflow. - Demonstrated success in influence-without-authority scenarios in which your work has driven outcomes. Requirements - Experience with React/Node and custom front-end applications. - Understanding of common paid, earned and owned media tools and systems. - Familiarity with data-warehouse infrastructure (BigQuery, DBT, DLT & GCP). - Public track record of shipped AI work - open-source contributions, technical writing, or production case studies. The AI headhunter connecting elite tech sales talent with high-growth startups.
Role Description This is the company's top hiring priority and a genuinely hard research problem. Because data flows through a decentralized marketplace, ensuring quality at scale is the single biggest bottleneck to growth. As a Research Engineer, you will build the automated systems that verify and assure data quality so that suppliers consistently deliver excellent data to buyers. You will start by digging into the data manually to understand failure modes, then design systems to automate quality checks at scale, combining rule-based approaches with AI for fuzzier cases and human-in-the-loop review where it makes sense. Responsibilities - Identify data quality issues including inconsistencies, formatting problems, and ingestion challenges - Perform initial manual data quality review to deeply understand failure modes - Build systems to automate quality checks at scale using rule-based and AI-driven approaches - Design hybrid systems that balance automation with human-in-the-loop review - Continuously improve verification methods as the data landscape and AI tooling evolve Qualifications - Deeply technical, with a strong learning slope and the ability to ramp quickly in a fast-moving field - Background in AI/ML engineering, or software engineering at an AI-focused company with data ingestion and processing experience - Ability to reason about likely data quality problems from first principles - Comfortable owning ambiguous, open-ended problems end to end - Bonus: experience working with noisy or unstructured data Company Description Our partner is a YC-backed company building a new kind of marketplace in the AI training data space. Rather than operating as a labor marketplace, they provide infrastructure that lets data producers transform their existing data into formats AI labs want and sell it directly to those labs. This democratized model unlocks far more high-value data sources, and the team is growing quickly to keep up with demand.

Role Description The Senior Research Methodologist position sits within ICF's Global Health and Development Practice, which serves clients such as the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of State, philanthropic funders, multilateral organizations, and national governments to strengthen health systems, generate evidence, and improve population health and development outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. The practice has deep expertise in population-based surveys, health data systems, monitoring and evaluation, and technical assistance to national institutions. ICF seeks a Senior Research Methodologist to serve as Principal Investigator (PI) for a methodological experiment testing hybrid (phone + in-person) survey designs against contemporaneous Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS). The study asks how much of a standard DHS — including representative biomarker data, small area estimation, and strong measurement performance — can be preserved, under what conditions, and at what cost, using hybrid designs. It will field two designs (household-first and phone-first) alongside contemporaneous DHS in two countries in West and Central Africa, each of which includes malaria biomarkers, and will produce an evidence-informed decision framework and transferable guidance for the DHS Program and the broader survey-research community. The PI is the single point of technical and coordinating accountability for the study, leading a multidisciplinary ICF team and partnering closely with in-country co-Principal Investigators at the national statistical offices in each study country. This is a grant-funded position spanning a two-year period. This position is 100% remote/telecommute, with international travel to study countries. What You'll Be Doing - Provide overall scientific leadership for the experiment from design through implementation, analysis, and dissemination, serving as the single point of technical accountability across two concurrent country tracks. - Convene and lead a technical working group (TWG) of external experts, and finalize core design decisions — including content scope, representativeness targets, and content-triage grading criteria — with in-country co-PIs and partners. - Lead development of the full study protocol and oversee IRB/ethics submissions in coordination with ICF and in-country ethics committees. - Direct the analytic core of the study: sampling and power design, dual-frame estimation, the non-response and replacement protocol, mode-effects estimation, and small area estimation — working closely with the sampler, methodologist, and data scientist/modeler. - Lead development and population of a cost-quality frontier, integrating activity-based cost and time data captured during fieldwork. - Provide in-country and remote support to fieldwork, coordinating a single field workforce across two design arms alongside the contemporaneous DHS, including malaria biomarker collection. - Lead post-hoc simulation of untested design configurations, and translate findings into transferable decision-tree and heuristic guidance for future survey designers. - Lead the final report(s) and peer-reviewed manuscripts, and represent the study in conference and stakeholder presentations. - Serve as the primary technical liaison to the funder and to in-country partners, ensuring strong country ownership and adherence to Global Access and open-data commitments. - Mentor and coordinate a multidisciplinary team; while this position has no direct personnel-management authority, the PI is responsible for project leadership and technical task management in close collaboration with survey managers and finance/operations staff. Qualifications - Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in demography, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, a social/behavioral science, or a related quantitative field; OR a master's degree in one of these fields with 20+ years of relevant experience. - Minimum 15 years of experience in survey research design and implementation, applied to population-based or public health surveys (or 20+ years with a master's degree, as above). - Deep expertise in probability sampling, weighting, complex survey design, and estimation, with the ability to independently conduct and interpret advanced analyses (e.g., dual-frame estimation, mode-effects analysis, small area estimation, equivalence testing) and to mentor others. - Demonstrated experience with household survey operations in low- and middle-income countries. - Significant writing experience, including study protocols, client/funder reports, and peer-reviewed publications. - Demonstrated experience conceptualizing and leading research grants or contracts. - Demonstrated track record of methodological thought leadership, such as conference presentations and peer-reviewed articles. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with DHS or DHS-like surveys and with biomarker (e.g., malaria RDT) data collection. - Experience conducting survey research in West and/or Central Africa. - Familiarity with phone-based and multimodal data collection (RDD, list-based, or hybrid designs) and the measurement challenges they raise. - Experience partnering with national statistical offices, ministries, or other in-country institutions. - Working proficiency in French. Professional Skills You Will Use - Attention to detail, organized, and proactive; able to manage multiple competing tasks and deadlines and negotiate prioritization. - Exceptional verbal and written communication, including the ability to convey methodological concepts to varied audiences — funders, country partners, and technical teams. - Able to make sound methodological decisions under real-world timing and budget constraints, including protecting scientific integrity when tradeoffs arise. - Able to drive project progress across concurrent country tracks and a distributed team, in close collaboration with in-country co-PIs and ICF operations staff. - Comfortable working across time zones and cultures with international partners. Submission Materials - Resume/CV. - One writing or work sample on which you were solo or primary author (e.g., a study protocol, methodological report, or peer-reviewed paper demonstrating advanced survey methods and analysis experience; please send no more than one document). Pay Range The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $119,323.00 - $202,850.00.
