Position Overview Join the QuestaSim (Simulation) R&D team at Siemens EDA as a Principal Engineer and drive innovation in simulation technology. In this role, you'll architect cutting-edge algorithms and software solutions that power industry-leading simulation tools. Working alongside a senior group of engineers, you'll tackle complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of strategic initiatives from conception through delivery. Your technical expertise, problem-solving acumen, and leadership will directly shape the future of electronic design automation. Key Responsibilities • Develop and architect cutting-edge algorithms and software design solutions for industry-leading simulation tools • Lead the conceptualization, definition, and implementation of complex, open-ended problem scopes and innovative ideas • Contribute to the development and enhancement of production-quality components, algorithms, and engines while improving existing codebases • Solve complex software problems in collaboration with senior engineers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment • Apply technical expertise and analytical thinking to achieve project milestones and deliver high-quality software solutions • Drive continuous improvement through self-motivation, discipline, and focus on achieving personal and team goals Qualifications • 15–25 years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in architecting and implementing large-scale systems • Strong proficiency in C/C++, data structures, and algorithms • Deep expertise in compiler concepts and optimizations • Proven experience working on UNIX and/or LINUX platforms • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a track record of delivering results independently • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution The pay range for this position is $154,200 - $277,600 annually with a target incentive of 10 - 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

• Define and own the end-to-end architecture for web and mobile applications, including front-end, back-end, integration, and infrastructure layers. • Translate business and product requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical architectures. • Partner with UX/UI designers to ensure architectural decisions support seamless, intuitive, and accessible user experiences. • Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices across web and mobile platforms. • Lead technology evaluations and make build-vs-buy recommendations for frameworks, tools, and platforms. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring high-quality, consistent implementation of architectural designs. • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, Design) to align technical solutions with business goals. • Conduct architecture reviews, performance audits, and risk assessments across projects. • Drive adoption of modern development practices (microservices, API-first design, responsive/adaptive design, CI/CD, cloud-native architecture). • Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, security, accessibility, and cross-device/browser compatibility. • Stay current with emerging trends in web, mobile, and UX technologies, and proactively recommend improvements. • Support pre-sales, client presentations, or stakeholder discussions with architectural vision and technical thought leadership.

• Lead client discovery, architecture workshops, and solution design across observability, telemetry, reliability, and operational intelligence initiatives. • Design enterprise observability architectures spanning monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, telemetry pipelines, alerting, event correlation, service visibility, and platform integrations. • Define scalable standards for telemetry onboarding, naming, tagging, RBAC, service ownership, dashboards, alert governance, runbooks, and operational handoff. • Advise on telemetry governance, including data quality, retention, access control, sampling, cardinality, and cost optimization. • Lead modernization initiatives including tool rationalization, dashboard and alert rationalization, telemetry strategy, and migration from legacy monitoring platforms. • Guide SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, production readiness, and incident response maturity. • Design integration patterns across ITSM, CMDB, event management, and automation platforms. • Support pursuits by shaping solution strategy, validating scope, informing estimates, and building client-facing technical narratives. • Serve as a senior escalation point and provide architecture governance during delivery. • Build reusable reference architectures, playbooks, and accelerators while mentoring architects, consultants, and offshore teams.
