Instacart invites the world to share love through food. This is how homemade is made.
• Lead and grow an engineering organization of 8+ engineers responsible for checkout architecture, order management, and post-order quality. These systems are foundational to Instacart's core customer experience and directly impact conversion and reliability at scale. • Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for 10+ partner teams across the organization, managing high-volume intake, setting clear prioritization frameworks, and ensuring Order Experience remains a reliable, well-scoped dependency for every major launch at Instacart. • Drive platform thinking across the team by identifying opportunities to rebuild and modernize foundational systems without sacrificing the pace of shipping customer-facing value, and making principled trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term architectural health. • Own engineering execution end to end: from roadmap alignment and technical strategy to team health, hiring, and career development for a high-performing group of engineers navigating a fast-moving, high-stakes domain. • Partner closely with product, design, data science, and cross-functional engineering leaders to define the future of order infrastructure to influence how Instacart scales its checkout and fulfillment systems as the business continues to grow.
Helping sales teams find their ideal buyers and convert them into customers.
• Own and continuously improve end-to-end detection, investigation, response, post-incident review, and threat intelligence-informed improvement processes, including AI-assisted triage and investigation workflows. • Lead complex and high-severity incidents with clear decision-making, effective stakeholder communication, and accountable follow-through on remediation. • Stay technically engaged in investigations across cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, corporate systems, user behavior, and abuse scenarios, and translate incident learnings, platform changes, and threat trends into Security Detection & Response priorities. • Define and evolve security observability and detection strategy, including telemetry onboarding, signal quality, threat intelligence inputs, alert tuning, and coverage validation. • Oversee Panther detections, MITRE ATT&CK-aligned use cases, investigation playbooks, and response automations, with measurement and validation loops for coverage, precision, latency, tuning effectiveness, safe rollout, and attack-simulation-based validation. • Transform security operations processes through practical use of AI, including designing agents and AI-native workflows for triage, enrichment, investigation, and response. • Drive Python-based tooling, CI/CD practices, and pragmatic use of AI to improve the speed, quality, and reliability of Security Detection & Response workflows. • Build, lead, and retain a high-performing remote Security Detection & Response team with clear expectations, strong onboarding, documentation, and knowledge-sharing practices. • Coach engineers to grow in technical depth, operational ownership, and leadership capability while partnering closely with Engineering, IT, Fraud, Legal, People, Support, and Product on incidents, investigations, and security improvements. • Work closely with Engineering and Infrastructure on telemetry quality, data pipelines, and operational readiness, and communicate security risk, incident impact, and remediation plans clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Define and review strategy-aligned metrics and reporting that measure Security Detection & Response effectiveness, highlight trends and gaps, and inform priorities and stakeholder decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, supporting their day-to-day effectiveness, technical growth, career development, and long-term goals. • Serve as the technical leader for your team, establishing technical direction and ensuring engineers make sound architectural and software design decisions. • Maintain a deep understanding of your team's systems and technical domain, providing meaningful guidance on architecture, implementation strategy, scalability, reliability, security, and operational readiness. • Partner closely with Product Management to define roadmaps, sequence initiatives, identify dependencies, and develop realistic short- and long-term delivery plans. • Translate product and business objectives into clear technical strategies, ensuring the team understands not only what it is building but why and how the pieces fit together. • Lead the technical planning and execution of complex initiatives from initial discovery and design through implementation, release, and production operation. • Work with engineers and technical leaders to ensure appropriate investment in platform health, technical debt, scalability, security, reliability, observability, and developer efficiency alongside product priorities. • Identify technical risks, assumptions, dependencies, and delivery constraints early, and work with Product and Engineering leadership to make informed tradeoffs and adjust plans when necessary. • Drive accountability for team commitments while creating an environment where risks and challenges are surfaced early and addressed constructively. • Coordinate with other Engineering Managers, Staff Engineers, and technical leaders to manage cross-team dependencies and ensure architectural consistency across the broader platform. • Establish and evolve engineering practices and architectural standards that address the unique complexities of LeafLink's business while complementing broader organizational standards. • Improve team effectiveness by using delivery metrics, retrospectives, operational data, and qualitative feedback to identify bottlenecks and drive meaningful improvements. • Ensure the team maintains a healthy, well-understood backlog with sufficient technical discovery and refinement to support predictable execution. • Participate in incident response and production troubleshooting, providing technical leadership during complex incidents and ensuring systemic improvements are identified and implemented. • Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain strong engineering talent while building an inclusive environment where engineers can do their best work. • Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, collaboration, pragmatic decision-making, and continuous improvement.
• Drive Infrastructure Modernization: Lead the architectural shift to elevate media to a first class citizen. • Optimize Playback & Delivery: Own key success metrics related to Quality of Services (QoS), including Time to First Frame (TTFF), stall/rebuffer rates, exits before video screen (EBVS). You will define the path to ensure reliable streaming for all of our users across the globe. • Manage Global Distribution: Partner closely with our infrastructure teams to define how to scale media via Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), edge computing, and caching strategies. • Standardize Formats: You will drive the standardization of our stack, from streaming protocols (HLS, MPEG-DASH) to container formats (CMAF, MP4). • Champion a culture of innovation and experimentation, where team members are encouraged to explore, test, and refine novel ideas, while balancing platform scale with product velocity. • Establish a clear technical vision and direction for our media systems, while staying ahead of the curve in terms of emerging technologies. • Navigate ambiguity with confidence, utilizing data-driven insights to guide the team towards successful outcomes. • Work in close partnership with Product, Data, and ML teams to ensure effective leadership, alignment with broader organizational objectives, and maximum impact.
Role Description ETG is in an active nationwide growth phase. This is a ground-floor, builder role — you will be the first dedicated sales and business development hire for the group. You will lead the business development growth in new ETG markets from zero to traction: establishing ETG’s presence, building a client pipeline, and driving new business unit revenue to a healthy backlog. This role starts as an army of one. You own the full BD cycle — marketing, prospecting, proposals, and close. As you build the book of business, you will have the opportunity to grow a team under you and transition into a leadership role focused on new market development, client growth, and long-term profitability. Compensation is structured to reward builders: commission on new business awarded early on, potential transitioning to a profit and growth bonus as the business matures. Responsibilities - Primary focus is sales and business development for clients across the United States, taking new geographies and service lines from initial contact to awarded work. - Own the full business development cycle: prospecting, relationship-building, proposal development, and close. - Drive new business unit revenue from $0 to $1M+ in backlog in target markets. - Establish ETG’s presence with Utilities (IOU and Public Power), Industrial clients, Data Centers, Oil & Gas, and large EPC/GC contractors nationwide. - Build and maintain a qualified national pipeline; manage and report using CRM tools (Salesforce). - Develop and execute marketing strategy for new markets — conferences, digital presence, direct outreach, and channel relationships. - Obtain leads from professional network, industry conferences (NETA, IEEE, regional utility forums), market reports, vendors, and company personnel. - Leverage technical knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning services to position ETG with engineering and procurement audiences. - Maintain network of industry supplier and partner relations; familiarity with protective relay manufacturers (SEL, GE, ABB, Schweitzer) and test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron) preferred. - Develop and present proposals to clients on ETG engineering and field services; coordinate scopes and pricing with BU operations leadership. - Act as liaison between clients, BU leadership, project management, and field engineers. - Review commercial terms with WM management; coordinate contracts with operations to ensure clear scope, schedule, and budget. - Provide timely internal reporting: quarterly sales reports, pipeline updates, expenses, timesheets. - As the business grows, recruit and develop a BD team to expand into additional markets and geographies. Qualifications - A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering preferred (Electrical Engineering strongly preferred). - Technical degree with equivalent industry experience or a proven track record of customer-facing technical sales and business development may be substituted. - 10+ years’ experience in the electrical, power, or utility industry. - Demonstrated track record of winning new business — opening new accounts, not just maintaining existing ones. - Experience taking a territory or market from early-stage to an established pipeline. - Working knowledge of electrical testing, protective relaying, switchgear commissioning, or substation services preferred. - Self-starter comfortable operating independently without a large support structure. - Established contacts in the power/utility/industrial market and a credible plan for market penetration and growth. - Experience building or managing a BD team a plus. Requirements - Seeing, hearing, clear speech, driving, ability to travel distances. Anticipated travel of 40–60%, typically weekdays. - Remote-friendly. Candidates based anywhere in the U.S. are welcome to apply. Periodic travel to ETG regional offices and client sites is expected. Significant in-office or on-site presence may be required during onboarding. Benefits - Medical - Dental - Vision - Basic and Supplemental Life and AD&D - Long Term Disability - Voluntary Short Term Disability - Healthcare & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts - Health Savings Account - Paid Time Off (PTO) - Paid Holidays - Tuition Reimbursement - Referral Bonus Program - 401(k)/Profit Sharing - 100% ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) - Employee Assistance Program - Will Preparation Resources - Worldwide Travel Assistance Compensation & Benefits The expected base salary range for this position is $125,000–$195,000 annually, depending on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in a performance-based commission plan, providing additional earning potential based on individual contributions and business growth.
