• Lead Reliability Engineering for User Experience • Drive reliability, scalability, and operational excellence for critical user facing systems and services. The Ads Business Engineering team operates at the intersection of engineering, product, sales, and business development, delivering technical expertise and solutions that empower technology partners, agencies, and advertisers to seamlessly integrate with Reddit’s advertising platform. At Reddit, a Business Engineer plays a critical role in driving the success of our advertising API products and platform integrations. This experienced engineer role combines deep technical consulting with hands-on engineering, where you'll guide strategic integrations, often contributing directly to implementation across Reddit’s stack or in the codebases of partners (or direct advertisers). You will be a key technical advisor—trusted to own the end-to-end relationship with Reddit’s most important advertising partners, and execute on the long-term strategy for how we develop an ecosystem of developers. You’ll work across engineering, product, sales, and business development teams to connect Reddit’s capabilities to the evolving needs of the market. You won’t just recommend solutions—you’ll implement them across systems, including platform changes, and also help define frameworks for scaling and repeatability. Responsibilities - Act as a trusted technical advisor and solutions architect for strategic partners (or direct advertisers), guiding them through the integration and adoption of Reddit’s advertising APIs and tools. - Design and prototype proof-of-concept solutions that accelerate technical enablement and create tangible value for partners (or direct advertisers). These builds may occur in Reddit’s systems or directly within the client’s or partner’s codebase. - Collaborate directly with engineering teams at partner (or direct advertiser) organizations to optimize performance, address integration gaps, and troubleshoot complex issues. - Lead onboarding, testing, and pre-launch support to ensure a smooth and successful implementation experience. - Represent the technical voice of the partner (or direct advertiser) internally, surfacing feedback and influencing product and platform priorities to improve outcomes for both sides. - Support escalations for complex or high-impact integrations and provide clear, actionable direction to resolve blockers quickly and sustainably. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong track record of owning end-to-end technical projects, including cross-org coordination. - Hands-on coding expertise in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Node.js), with a focus on backend or API development. - Proven ability to contribute directly to external integrations and prototype in partner environments. - Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, and modern SDK patterns. - Effective communicator with experience presenting complex technical and business ideas to both internal leadership and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications - Deep understanding of the AdTech ecosystem and how Reddit’s platform aligns with industry trends and standards. - Contributions to developer experience through tooling, documentation, or ecosystem standards. - Track record of influencing product roadmaps and getting involved in release, launch and product adoption activities in collaboration with sales, product, and engineering. - Ads Industry experience & Ads Partnerships experience. • Define the Vision: Shape the long-term strategy and roadmap for Reddit’s Ads ML platform, ensuring we are adopting cutting-edge technologies (including Generative AI and LLM workflows) to stay ahead of the curve. • Accelerate Velocity: Build products and tooling that dramatically reduce friction for Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs) and Data Scientists, enabling them to train, deploy, and iterate on models faster than ever. • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner deeply with Engineering, Data Science, and Ads Product teams to understand their constraints, prioritize platform initiatives, and deliver scalable infrastructure. • Drive Execution and Adoption: Own key performance indicators (KPIs) around platform reliability, latency, cost-efficiency, usage metrics, and developer productivity. • Stay Cutting-Edge: Keep your finger on the pulse of the broader ML ecosystem. Validate the needs and ensure they are tied into a broader vision for the org.

• Own and drive programs across Reddit's Performance portfolio, spanning mobile and web performance, client reliability, critical user journeys, observability, experimentation guardrails, release quality, and long-term performance operating mechanisms. • Partner deeply with engineering teams as a technical peer. • Define and drive the operating model for sustained performance improvement. • Drive the organizational change required for performance to become a durable part of Reddit’s engineering culture. • Develop communication and enablement mechanisms that bring engineers and leaders along for the journey. • Build measurement systems that distinguish real user experience improvement from shallow metric movement. • Drive performance governance and adoption in a way that preserves team ownership.

• Lead the measurement strategy for user safety by defining metrics, frameworks, and dashboards that quantify and monitor safety experiences across Reddit. • Use data and science-backed methods to inform the strategic direction of Safety product development and to rigorously assess the impact of product launches and policy or enforcement changes. • Design and execute experiments and quasi-experimental / inferential causal analyses (e.g., difference-in-differences, synthetic controls, matching) to estimate the impact and ROI of safety initiatives, and use these results for opportunity sizing and prioritization. • Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable models and prototypes leveraging statistical, machine learning, or GenAI methodologies to improve Reddit safety. • Tactically support product development and go-to-market, from problem framing and exploratory analysis through to experimentation, launch evaluation, and post-launch monitoring. • Stay current on advances in ML, LLMs, and related methods, and evaluate where they can meaningfully improve abuse detection, risk identification, and enforcement workflows. • Translate complex analyses into clear narratives and recommendations for stakeholders, acting as a data storyteller who can influence decisions at all levels of the Safety and Moderation orgs. • Mentor and up-level junior Data Scientists and Analysts in technical approaches for detecting and mitigating abuse, fostering a culture of rigor and curiosity.
