Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled LEAD SQL Server Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. This full-time, remote position is a critical part of our follow-the-sun support model, ensuring the highest levels of availability, reliability, and performance for our SQL Server infrastructure. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with a multicultural team, and play a pivotal role in maintaining and evolving our database systems. - Review and approve database releases. - Lead project to modernize database infrastructure. - Enforce the highest standards of security and compliance. - Maintain high availability and reliability of the SQL Server infrastructure. - Participate in the follow-the-sun support model. - Build and implement new database infrastructure. - Apply updates and patches to maintain a secure and compliant environment. - Attend incident calls as per SLAs. - Enforce and uphold security and compliance policies. - Ensure adherence to backup and recovery policies. - Document legacy processes for improved clarity and efficiency. - Coach junior DBAs to enhance their technical skills. - Oversee performance, applying quick fixes and escalating complex cases to the performance tuning team. - Collaborate with other teams to discuss and optimize the underlying database infrastructure. Qualifications - 8+ years in highly available SQL Server environments, working across virtual and physical infrastructures. - Proven ability to automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools. - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. - Microsoft certifications are a plus. - Experience in manufacturing industries is a bonus. - Development background to facilitate smooth communication with developers. Requirements - Primarily focused on on-premises infrastructure, with a preference for candidates who also have experience with AWS.
