Role Description We are seeking an experienced Communication Strategy Consultant for a focused 2-month contract engagement. This is a high-impact opportunity to help our team articulate its growing story — internally across our organization and externally to our customers, academic partners, and industry stakeholders. You will develop comprehensive, actionable internal and external communication plans that reflect the strategic importance and momentum of our Future Workforce programs. What You'll Do - Communication Strategy Development: - Lead the creation of a cohesive, overarching communication strategy for the Global Future Workforce team, aligned with our brand voice and strategic priorities. - Define key messages, target audiences, communication channels, and measurable success metrics for both internal and external audiences, in alignment with marketing and corporate communication. - Internal Communication Plan: - Design a detailed internal communication plan to ensure alignment, awareness, and engagement across Siemens' matrixed organization — including sales, marketing, talent acquisition, and technical support teams. - Develop messaging frameworks that help internal stakeholders — from account executives to senior leadership — clearly articulate the value of Future Workforce programs, including microcredentials and the digital thread mindset. - Recommend channels and cadences (e.g., newsletters, town halls, intranet content, leadership briefings) to keep internal teams informed and energized. - External Communication Plan: - Develop a comprehensive external communication plan targeting key audiences including commercial customers, higher education institutions, government agencies, industry partners, and prospective learners. - Craft messaging that communicates the business value of our microcredentials and workforce transformation programs — including how they bridge knowledge gaps, accelerate onboarding, and drive digital transformation adoption. - Provide guidance on thought leadership content, endorsement amplification, social media engagement, event communications, and partner-facing materials. - Stakeholder & Audience Analysis: - Conduct a thorough analysis of internal and external stakeholders to tailor communication approaches that resonate with each audience's specific needs — from C-suite executives at aerospace companies to engineering students at universities. - Content & Messaging Guidance: - Provide strategic guidance on content creation, ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, and brand alignment across all communication materials. - Advise on how to leverage existing endorsements, customer testimonials, and program success stories (e.g., Bombardier, Northrop Grumman, Rose-Hulman, University of Cincinnati) to strengthen external credibility. - Final Deliverables: - Present a complete Communication Strategy Document to team leadership, including: - Internal Communications Plan - External Communications Plan - Key messaging frameworks by audience - Recommended channels, tools, and timelines - Success metrics and evaluation approach Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in communication strategy, corporate communications, public relations, or marketing — preferably within a large, matrixed organization or agency environment. - Demonstrated ability to develop data-informed, audience-centric communication strategies that achieve measurable results. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex, technical, or strategic concepts into clear, compelling narratives. - Proven experience engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders, including internal teams, executive leadership, customers, and external partners. - Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality work within a condensed timeline. - Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic, global environment.
