Communications & Outreach Specialist

• Develop and implement targeted SMS and email communication strategies supporting membership growth, retention, promotions, operational messaging, and community engagement. • Evaluate campaign objectives and determine appropriate messaging structure, audience segmentation, delivery timing, and communication channel utilization. • Adapt corporate and regional marketing strategies into location-specific communications that align with brand standards and local market needs. • Collaborate with marketing leadership and operational teams to identify communication priorities and campaign opportunities. • Recommend communication strategies based on audience engagement trends, campaign performance, and business objectives. • Write and distribute press releases announcing new club openings, leadership hires, awards, and other company milestones across all Fit Fusion markets. • Research and maintain a working knowledge of the media landscape, local business climate, and community priorities in each market Fit Fusion operates in to inform outreach strategy. • Develop and maintain organized media pitch lists, identifying relevant journalists, outlets, and reporters covering fitness, business, and local community news. • Lead the development, formatting, scheduling, and deployment of multi-location SMS and email campaigns. • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, identifying opportunities to improve engagement, conversion, and messaging clarity.
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of experience managing marketing communications, email marketing, digital messaging campaigns, or related marketing initiatives preferred
- Experience developing and optimizing communication campaigns across multiple audience segments
- Strong understanding of digital communication strategy and audience engagement best practices
- Ability to analyze campaign performance data and translate insights into communication improvements
- Strong written communication, editing, and messaging development skills
- Experience with email marketing platforms, SMS marketing systems, or marketing automation tools preferred
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Ability to independently manage multiple communications initiatives and deadlines
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across departments
