Role Description
This position is responsible for converting self-sourced leads optioned from networking and referrals from centers of influence (COI). In addition to self-sourced referrals, this position will be responsible for converting leads that are referred by other MCU lines of business. This position is responsible for converting self-sourced leads received from outside referrals and at the branch into loans by promoting the credit unions’ real estate and consumer lending products, services, and programs. Interview members and prospects to obtain relevant information and evaluate applicants' financial status, review credit history, debt-to-income ratio, and appraisal reports, to determine and recommend an appropriate loan product. Ensure compliance with MCU loan policy, federal, state and NCUA rules, regulations and laws.
Responsibilities

Pre-qualify prospective borrowers, prepare preliminary Loan Estimate (LE), initial disclosures, amended disclosures and Rate Lock agreement in compliance with RESPA.

Review the sales contract, income, assets and debt information to ensure applicants meet MCU’s minimum standard guidelines.

Manage pipeline and issue prequalification certificates.

Counsels members on the reasons for denial and advises how to improve their financial position and credit score.

Works with branch personnel to promote lending referrals and be a subject matter expert.

Understands and demonstrates expert knowledge of products and services offered at Municipal Credit Union.

Leverages relationship building skills to broaden the MCU membership, establish and maintain a network of realtors and attorneys that will provide referrals.

Provide product education to membership through seminars and Business Development visits.

Identify opportunities to offer additional products and services.

Be the subject matter expert on policies and procedures.

Recommend and develop efficiencies across the department.

Participate in ongoing training and development approved by HR and Management.

Adhere to all regulatory compliance training inclusive of BSA/AML/OFAC and overall BSA/AML/OFAC compliance.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 2 years in experience in real estate lending.

Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Technologically proficient.

NMLS will be required.

Benefits

Pay for this position is between $35,500 annually plus commissions.

Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
