Role Description The Inside Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for converting inbound leads, outbound leads, and referrals. Lead sources include digital, telephone, appointments, and referrals from the branch network. Focus is to convert these opportunities into full loan applications by promoting the credit union’s lending products, services, and programs. Additionally, they are responsible for generating sales through outbound calling with primary focus on current MCU members and prospects. Position is responsible to interview members, obtain relevant information, evaluate applicants' financial status, review loan application, credit history, income, and collateral information, to determine and recommend an appropriate loan product. Ensure compliance with MCU loan policy, federal, state, and NCUA rules, regulations, and laws. Responsibilities - Generate closed loans through both inbound leads and outbound calling efforts. - Support incoming calls from both mortgage and home equity inbound calling queues. - Make outbound calls from provided lists to achieve lending goals. - Focus on meeting the lending needs of current MCU members and prospects. - Pre-qualify prospective borrowers; prepare preliminary Loan Estimate (LE), initial disclosures, amended disclosures, and Rate Lock agreement in compliance with RESPA and other compliance requirements. - Lending focus includes Mortgage and Home Equity. - Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products and services to support member’s financial needs. - Achieve referral goals set to deepen member relationships with MCU and support deposit growth goals. - Review the sales contract, income, assets, and debt information to ensure applicants meet MCU’s minimum standard guidelines. - Complete and collect required documentation prior to submitting a loan application. - Manage personal pipeline in accordance with department standards and compliance requirements. - Counsels members on the reasons for denial and advises how to improve their financial position and credit score. - Understands and demonstrates expert knowledge of products and services offered at Municipal Credit Union. - Identify opportunities to offer additional products and services. - Participate in ongoing training and development approved by HR and Management. - Travel as required. - Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned. Qualifications - College Degree preferred or equivalent work experience. - Minimum 2 years of experience in service-related banking. - Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. - Technologically proficient. - NMLS will be required.
