Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack

Xplor Technologies

Role Description Join our Embedded Payments team as Sr. Fullstack Software Engineer in Pune, India to make a real impact every day. Reporting into the Director of Software Engineering, you'll take ownership of complex, cross-cutting problems across our cloud-native payment orchestration platform. - Lead the design and delivery of complex, cross-cutting features spanning APIs, data models, and UI, with a strong eye toward scalability, reliability, and maintainability. - Drive technical design for new payments capabilities, including architecture trade-offs, operational feasibility, and risk assessment. - Set the technical direction for your area of the platform and ensure consistency with broader architectural patterns. - Mentor mid-level engineers through code review, design discussions, and pairing; raise the overall engineering bar on the team. - Identify and resolve systemic issues — performance bottlenecks, reliability gaps, technical debt — before they become customer-facing problems. - Partner with QA to define verification strategy and ensure new features are well-instrumented and observable in production. - Lead or significantly contribute to incident response and root-cause analysis for production payments issues; participate in on-call rotation. - Contribute to roadmap and estimation discussions, providing senior technical judgment on scope and sequencing. - Use AI-assisted development tools effectively and help establish team norms for using them responsibly at scale. - Stay current with platform updates, security practices, and PCI compliance requirements, and help uplift the team's practices accordingly. Qualifications - 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a Computer Science/Engineering degree or equivalent. - Deep Node.js experience and a track record of designing and shipping production backend services at scale. - Experience building React-based frontends that consume RESTful APIs. - Demonstrated ownership across the full stack — you can independently scope, design, and deliver a feature from data model to UI. - Proven experience designing RESTful APIs and service-oriented or microservice architectures, including making and defending architectural trade-offs. - Strong working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), data modeling, and service boundary design. - Substantial hands-on experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform in a production environment. - Experience owning CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or similar), including release and rollback strategy. - Proficiency with Git, agile delivery, and testing frameworks like Jest. - Experience mentoring other engineers and influencing technical direction beyond your own individual contributions. - Fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) and an articulate point of view on where they help and where they don't. - Comfortable working on a 100% remote team and able to operate independently while providing technical leadership within an agile group. Requirements - Experience building or operating payments systems — payment orchestration, tokenization, acquirer integrations (Worldpay, Stripe, Adyen, Finix, Basis Theory), or PCI-compliant environments. - Familiarity with event-driven architectures (SQS, EventBridge, Kafka). - Exposure to observability tooling (SigNoz, Grafana, Datadog, etc.). - Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform). Benefits - Paid Parental Leave benefit programs. - #GiveBackDays/Commitment to social impact – 3 extra days off to volunteer and give back to your local community. - Ongoing dedication to Diversity & Inclusion initiatives such as D&I Council, Global Mentorship Program. - Access to free mental health support. - Flexible working arrangements.
