Senior Field Service Engineer
ABB
• Provide guidance and assistance to the work group to meet assigned objectives • Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment • Be responsible for hands-on execution of projects including Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment • Lead outages with other field engineers, technicians, and contractors • Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet, and expense sheets • Plan, prepare, and/or instruct both internal and external training programs as required
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma and 6 years of related engineering / field experience
- Ability and willingness to travel up to an estimated 75% of the time
- Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers is preferred
- Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines are preferred
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

• Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment • Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects • Daily travel with independent work structure • Provide 24x7 “on-call” services as required • Maintain and safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments • Battery installations and replacements • Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled • Communicate availability status to corporate office • Maintain company vehicle in safe and operational condition • Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, and Expense Reports timely and accurately • Maintain technical documentation for study and/or review
