Field Service Technician
ZEISS Group
• Engage in a comprehensive ~3 month in field and classroom training program to ensure you have the skills and tools to be successful. • Once trained, you will travel to customer sites in your region to Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate the most advanced measuring instruments in the world. • Work hands on to learn new skills on high tech CMM’s (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude. • Document service work and maintain accurate service records. • Work independently while representing the company in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Job Requirements
- Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.
- Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and the like.
- Training and experience from a Military Technical School.
- Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
- Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
- Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week.
- Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
- Valid Driver License required.

• Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment • Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects • Daily travel with independent work structure • Provide 24x7 “on-call” services as required • Maintain and safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments • Battery installations and replacements • Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled • Communicate availability status to corporate office • Maintain company vehicle in safe and operational condition • Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, and Expense Reports timely and accurately • Maintain technical documentation for study and/or review
