Principal Platform Architect

Role Description As a Principal Platform Architect (Principal) for Kainos, you’ll be accountable for leading the delivery of cloud platforms and solutions enabling business transformation which delight our customers and positively impact the lives of users worldwide. As a technologist you will be inquisitive and will embrace new technology. - Provide leadership as part of multi-disciplinary agile teams. - Build a shared understanding of the outcomes the solution must deliver. - Understand the technical landscape and complexity surrounding designs. - Foster and build relationships with senior stakeholders. - Establish architectural principles and strategic direction of the platform. - Drive technology direction and advancement in the Kainos Platforms Capability. - Guide others in their career journeys while being supported in yours. - Collaborate with colleagues to establish development of blueprints and standards. - Foster customer relationships and contribute to account strategies. - Act as a technology ambassador for Kainos. Qualifications - A desire to work on complex and ambitious programmes within the Public Sector (SC clearance required). - Proven experience of leading the delivery of platforms underpinning large scale cloud transformation. - Experience leading and making technology decisions driving positive customer outcomes. - Experienced in building and fostering relationships with stakeholders, including executive and C-level senior stakeholders. - Experience with public cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, GCP (spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS). - Demonstrated ability in managing, coaching, and developing team members. Requirements - Have pro-actively developed business across an account with sales and account managers. - Experience in managing others, setting objectives, giving feedback, and leading performance reviews. - Actively sharing thoughts and views on technology. - Experience of helping to bring challenging projects back on track. - Previous accountability in creation and promotion of new products or services to meet organizational strategy. - Participation in technology communities. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture, including at least 5 years specializing in Salesforce. - Proven success leading large-scale Salesforce implementations across multiple business units. - Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and REST/SOAP APIs. - Experience integrating Salesforce CPQ with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Workday), middleware platforms, and other key applications such as e-Stores and entitlement tools. - Salesforce certifications (Application Architect, CPQ Specialist, Technical Architect) are highly preferred. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a customer-first mindset and proven ability to improve processes. - Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and build effective partnerships with application stakeholders. - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Engineering, or a related discipline. - This role may require some travel.
