Role Description As a senior member of the Commissions team, you’ll own and shape our Xactly Incent ecosystem. This isn’t just about administration, it’s about building scalable, transparent, and resilient processes that empower our Sales and Partner organizations and support Avalara’s next phase of growth. Working under the Sr. Director, Commissions within Financial Operations you’ll partner closely with Revenue Operations, FP&A, Accounting, HR, and Engineering to translate business strategy into systems design, implement complex plan changes, and continuously improve how we operate. You are someone who is eager to learn and a self-starter who will be a point of contact for all sales compensation system-related questions and inquiries. You thrive in a fast-paced & multi-tasking environment. If you love solving ambiguous problems, driving clarity across stakeholders, and building systems that scale, this role is for you. - Own and administer Xactly Incent, Reporting, and Analytics, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and strong governance - Lead end-to-end implementation of incentive plan changes (requirements, configuration, testing, deployment) - Collaborate with the multi-functional team to identify and solve technical Xactly issues - Partner cross-functionally to align compensation systems with business strategy - Improve the monthly commissions process through improved automation and process optimization - Actively use AI tools to automate tasks, accelerate analysis, and improve accuracy with a habit of exploring and applying new tools practically - Maintain data integrity across upstream and downstream systems - Provide advanced user support and enablement Qualifications - 5+ years in Sales Compensation, or related roles - 3–5 years of hands-on experience administering Xactly Incent or a comparable enterprise incentive compensation platform (e.g., Varicent, CaptivateIQ, SAP Commissions, Anaplan, etc.) - Strong understanding of SaaS sales incentive structures - Proven experience leading cross-functional systems projects - High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy - Strong analytical and communication skills Requirements - The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations. - Colorado: $136,400 - $225,000 (annually) - Washington: $136,400 - $248,600 (annually) - California: $136,400 - $272,500 (annually) - NYC: $150,800 - $272,500 (annually) - The successful candidate’s actual salary/wage may be based on various factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. - This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and the employee’s role.
