Role Description Teacher Tutors is hiring certified elementary teachers to join our team as part-time tutors, working one-on-one with students in grades 3 through 5. This role is ideal for current or former elementary classroom teachers who want to keep teaching the age group they love — without the grading stacks, the staff meetings, or the lesson planning for thirty kids at once. Upper elementary is the stretch where school starts to get real. Reading shifts from decoding to comprehension. Math leaves the comfort zone of whole numbers and lands in fractions, decimals, and multi-step word problems. Writing expands from sentences to paragraphs to actual essays. For a lot of kids, this is where the gaps first show up — and where the right tutor can make a year-shaping difference. That's the work. You'll meet with students in their homes, online, or at our Livingston, NJ office. We match families to tutors based on your preferred travel radius — you tell us how far you're willing to drive, and we work within that. Responsibilities - Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions in core elementary subjects: reading comprehension, writing, math, and study skills. - Plan sessions around each student's specific gaps — pacing, materials, and approach tailored to the individual, not a packaged curriculum. - Build confidence alongside skills. - Coordinate with parents on what to focus on, and with classroom teachers when invited. - Track progress across sessions and adjust when something isn't working. - Submit a short session note after each tutoring session. Qualifications - Valid New Jersey Elementary K–6 teaching certification, or equivalent elementary certification from another state with NJ reciprocity. - Classroom teaching experience at the elementary level — ideally including grades 3, 4, or 5. - Working knowledge of the upper-elementary curriculum. - Strong communication skills with both kids and parents. - Ability to adapt in real time when a planned approach isn't landing. - Availability for after-school, evening, or weekend hours during the school year, with some flexibility during the summer. - Comfort with educational technology. - Reliable transportation for in-home sessions. Requirements - Pay range: $40–$50/hour, based on certification, experience, and subject area. - W-2 (default): Most part-time tutors join as W-2 employees. - 1099 (optional): Tutors who prefer 1099 contractor status are welcome, provided they carry their own professional liability insurance and operate through a registered LLC. Coverage area We serve families across northern New Jersey, with most in-home sessions concentrated in Essex, Morris, Union, and Bergen counties. When you join, you'll let us know your preferred travel radius from home, and we'll match you with students within that range. Online sessions are available statewide. Nice to have - Reading specialist certification or training in a structured-literacy method. - Experience teaching in Livingston, Millburn, West Orange, South Orange/Maplewood, or other Essex County districts. - Experience working with students on IEPs or 504 plans. - Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages common in the communities we serve).

Role Description Mindrift connects specialists with project-based AI opportunities for leading tech companies, focused on testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems. Participation is project-based, not permanent employment. What this opportunity involves: - Evaluate AI-generated auto insurance claims decisions for accuracy, coverage correctness, and regulatory compliance. - Design realistic FNOL (First Notice of Loss) scenarios with deliberate contradictions, decoy files, and outdated documents to test agent robustness. - Create test cases for coverage-scope decisions (collision vs. comprehensive) where the correct answer requires domain knowledge, not keyword matching. - Write and grade fraud-flagging scenarios using structured reason codes (late reporting, recently purchased policy, inconsistent damage) for SIU referral. - Build subrogation test cases applying state-specific negligence rules (comparative vs. contributory) and assess likelihood of recovery. - Develop supervisor-escalation scenarios that test whether the agent correctly recognizes authority-limit thresholds ($25,000) and stops short of auto-approving. - Draft and evaluate reservation-of-rights letter scenarios, verifying language stays within the bad-faith line. - Validate coverage-limits math when multiple endorsements (OEM, rideshare, extended rental) stack on a single claim. - Document test cases clearly with correct answers, policy citations, and payout calculations. Qualifications - Degree in Finance, Business, Insurance, or related field — or equivalent professional experience; no specific degree is required if AIC, CPCU, or comparable credentials are present, or if the candidate has 4+ years of hands-on claims adjusting experience. - 3+ years of hands-on auto claims adjusting, examining, or supervisory experience at a U.S. carrier, independent adjusting firm, or SIU team. - Ability to make coverage decisions (collision vs. comprehensive, endorsement stacking, exclusion vs. coverage grant) without looking them up. - Familiarity with U.S. state-specific rules — comparative vs. contributory negligence states, state adjuster licensing requirements. - Experience reading full auto policy documents with citation discipline (able to reference a specific section, e.g. "Section IV.B.2"). - Comfort computing payout math involving deductibles, sub-limits, and layered endorsements in Excel or equivalent. - Awareness of the bad-faith line and adjuster authority-limit culture. - Associate in Claims (AIC), CPCU, CIFI, or SCLA credential is a strong positive signal — but not required if experience is solid. - Strong written English (C1+). Requirements - Apply → Pass qualification(s) → Join a project → Complete tasks → Get paid. - For this project, tasks are estimated to require around 10–20 hours per week during active phases, based on project requirements. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed workload, and applies only while the project is active. Compensation - On this project, contributors can earn up to $60 per hour equivalent, depending on their level and pace of contribution. - Compensation varies across projects depending on scope, complexity, and required expertise. Please note that other projects on the platform may offer different earning levels based on their requirements.
