Role Description - Preview course(s) and become familiar with online content and course requirements. - Provide bi-weekly/weekly reports via e-mail to Ignite’s administrative team by set deadlines. - Provide final grades via progress reports upon request of Ignite’s administrative team. - Respond to student communication within 24 school hours. - Contact your students via platform communication tools at least once per week regarding assignments and deadlines. - Grade any assignments or assessments required throughout the course (exams, papers, projects, etc.) within 48 school hours of submission. - Provide office hours for 1 hour per week per class being taught. Office hours must be shared regularly through platform communication. - Monitor assignments and assessments to determine if the curriculum is being delivered effectively. - Notify Ignite’s administrative team immediately if a student is failing or not participating. - Provide feedback to Ignite’s administrative team based on your online teaching experience. - Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times. Qualifications - PA Teaching Certificate in Chemistry. - Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started. - Ability to quickly establish rapport with students and adapt to different classroom settings. - Strong classroom management skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Flexibility and adaptability to different teaching assignments. - Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
