After training is complete and specialists are certified to review applications, all hires must be available to work between 15 to 19 hours per week (approximately 75-120 files per week) starting mid-September 2026 including during holiday weeks through the end of January, when enough work is available. Actual hours will be dependent on the amount of work available and will vary throughout the application review cycle. Responsibilities - Review and evaluate a high volume of applications for undergraduate admission using the University's online, individualized and comprehensive holistic review process in accordance with the Office of Admissions guidelines, policies and procedures. - Expected to read a minimum of 5 applications per hour when enough work is available. - Meet Admissions Application Review Specialist expectations including: - Consistently meeting weekly application review expectations (approximately 75-120 files per week), September 2025 through end of January 2026. - Keeping up-to-date with communications and any procedural or guideline changes, which might impact review of applications. - Applying feedback and guidance provided about the holistic review process. - Maintaining consistent and timely communication and interaction with application review coordinators as well as other staff as needed during the review process. - Actively participate in online training sessions and complete periodic application review tasks. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher. - Strong organization and time management skills to ensure scheduled deadlines and expectations for the position are met. - Ability to exercise judgement and discretion, as well as maintaining security and confidentiality, particularly in matters related to sensitive or confidential information. - Proficient and comfortable with working independently on computers and with a variety of applications, including online file sharing and email for communication. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications - Graduate degree. - Experience with holistic review. - Prior experience reviewing admissions files. - Previous experience with high school curriculum and extracurricular activity opportunities. - Knowledge of Undergraduate Admissions policies and procedures. - Familiarity with recruitment and counseling practices at higher education institutions. - Extensive prior personal or professional experience in areas or programs that promote and/or prepare prospective students for post-secondary education. - Previous employment in the area of college counseling. - Affiliation with The University of Texas at Austin (e.g., alumni, former faculty, former staff and volunteer for various UT-Austin events, etc.). Salary Range $20.00 - $22.00 Working Conditions - May work around standard office conditions. - Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. - Max of 19 hours per week. 15-19 hours per week are not guaranteed.
