Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Cohere Health finance team. This position will play an integral role on the team, reporting directly to the Controller and broadly to the CFO. You will drive accounting functions, including:

General ledger accounting and financial reporting

The month-end close process

Technical accounting analysis, including ASC 606 for new revenue deals

Audit support

Finance operations oversight, including travel & expense, cash management, customer billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

What you’ll do:

Calculate and record journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP

Drive the month-end close cycle, including preparing and reviewing account reconciliations for cash, accounts receivable, prepaid assets, fixed assets, intangible assets and goodwill, debt, commissions, accruals, leases, and equity

Support the annual financial statement audit process

Partner with the Cohere India finance team to record intercompany and consolidation entries

Perform and document technical accounting analysis, including ASC 606 analysis, and maintain accounting policies

Support customer billing and invoice generation
-
Drive process improvement, system implementations, and technology adoption, including applicable uses of artificial intelligence in the accounting function

Support cash flow management and working capital analysis to plan and manage liquidity needs

Support finance operational areas, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and travel & expense management
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a demonstrated high level of academic success
-
3-5 years of relevant experience in public accounting, industry accounting, or similar role

Proficient knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting, including ASC 606, ASC 842, and internally developed software accounting

Passionate about process improvement and technology adoption, including the use of artificial intelligence

Intermediate level knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls

Highly skilled in using Microsoft Excel

Organized, productive and detail oriented

Ability to meet designated deadlines and manage multiple projects to completion

Able to function independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities

Exercises superior judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills and communication skills to effectively work and communicate on sensitive and confidential issues

Big Four public accounting experience and/or CPA strongly desired

Experience with NetSuite

Experience with multinational reporting and consolidation accounting

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and internal alignment. This role is not eligible for hire in: AK, CA, CO, HI, NY, or WA.
