Application Developer III
WashU IT
• Provide advanced support of cost-effective Research information technology solutions by updating, modifying, and supporting existing myIRB (Java, Struts, Hibernate, Oracle) software application • Work closely with the Human Research Protection Office (HRPO) • Undertake complex projects requiring specialized technical knowledge and innovative thinking • Conduct workflow study and analysis of business practices • Analyze and document existing processes as they relate to information technology solutions • Perform application lifecycle activities, including: Code, monitor, maintain, test and debug software applications; follows established change management processes; facilitates code reviews and enforces code standards; develops and executes test plan development; researches and evaluates new technology, products, specialized hardware and tools to optimize development and functionality of applications; makes recommendations to management and customers • Assist in ensuring team members complete tasks as assigned, taking corrective action to stay on schedule • Provide support for complex operational activities and recoveries • Coordinate with software vendors and external service providers • Troubleshoot escalated software bugs and provide fixes • Provide off-hours support, as needed • Provide strong leadership, cultivate and foster excellent customer service; enforce adherence to departmental standards; instruct, train and guide less experienced staff • Perform other duties as assigned
