Role Description The CO₂ Field Service Technician provides hands-on technical support for installing, maintaining, and repairing automation and CO₂ equipment at customer sites. This role involves extensive travel and requires the ability to work independently while ensuring high-quality service delivery. Responsibilities - Carries out technical assignments to install, modify, and repair factory automation equipment at customer sites, with 100% weekly travel. - Maintains a safe work environment and reports any issues that arise. - Operates and programs machines, understanding all technical aspects and machine parameter functions. - Prepares standard equipment documentation and reports, including service reports, expense reports, and others as directed. - Provides customers with timely and accurate technical information in a positive and straightforward manner. - Provides equipment operation and maintenance training to customers' employees and fellow field service technicians. - Prepares and submits documentation for efficient invoicing. - Maintains company property for safe operation and maximum life. - Efficiently manages business expenses to maximize profitability. - Performs routine maintenance on equipment and assists in establishing preventative maintenance schedules with customers and the service coordinator. Qualifications - Associate degree in Laser, Electro, or Optics, or equivalent experience is required. - Two or more years of related experience, including troubleshooting. - Functional PC skills and proficiency with appropriate software required. - Ability to use hand tools, meters, gauges, schematics, and jigs to adjust and maintain proper machine calibration and performance. - Ability to travel extensively (95%), primarily within the United States, with the possibility of travel to Mexico, Canada, and Japan, always on short notice. - Ability to work independently with little supervision. - Strong attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments. - Strong diagnostic and technical aptitude, including knowledge of AC and DC electrical, mechanical, and optical systems. - Commitment to the company's Core Values. - Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
