Role Description Our Reality Labs (RL) organization brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and platform. We plan to release multiple products over the next few years. In particular, we are building technologies or seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Meta's mission of bringing the world closer together. The ideal candidate will demonstrate ability to harness and translate strategic insights into actionable marketing recommendations, hunger to drive significant business result/impact, orientation toward strategic thinking to drive product/brand outcomes. They have experience in building strong cross-functional partnerships, insights and strategy for hardware/physical products as well as retail, shopper and/or category management. Proactivity, energy, flexibility, collaboration, and a passion for translating complex ideas into simple and compelling messages are a must. Responsibilities - Conducting foundational qualitative and quantitative research to inform direction on new-to-the-world tech products - hardware experience or physical goods a requirement. - Translate business questions into research programs that can inform product and marketing strategy. - Identifying consumer needs, problems to solve, and leverage learnings to shape 0-to-1 product initiatives. - Successful time management and prioritization, balancing competing requests and identifying biggest impact opportunities. - Desire and ability to position learnings within larger business context to inform and shape audience recommendations and strategy. Qualifications - 6+ years of experience with extensive background in both qualitative and quantitative research supporting 0->1 product launch initiatives - physical goods or tech hardware experience a must. - Problem-solving and prioritization experience to move from blank slate to a research problem matched with a solution to inform business strategy. - Proven track record of managing research programs and vendors independently. - Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven track record of delivering concise, sharp, executive level synthesis to influence business decisions and strategies. - Experience thinking holistically/creatively in addition to technically/analytically. - Work well in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. - Experience collaborating proactively and effectively with a broad variety of partners. Requirements Top Three Must-Have Skills - Deep understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. - Strong bias for impact. - Highly proactive and self-driven. Nice-to-have Skills - Experience conducting research on hardware products. - Ability to work with challenging stakeholders, e.g crafting effective questions and managing relationships. - Values collaboration and can speak to its importance; credibility is essential. - Prior Meta experience.
