Role Description This position is the senior technical authority across three core functions: Linux systems engineering, network engineering, and QA automation testing. It designs and maintains the Linux environment and network interfaces that run on the company's product, sets up and maintains the Linux and network lab environments (including QA lab systems) that support QA testing and Engineering Development, and builds, executes, and maintains the automated test frameworks that validate product quality. Without this role, the organization would lack the engineering expertise and technical leadership to support the product's Linux and network capabilities and deliver dependable, automated testing. Responsibilities - Ensure the product's Linux environment is reliably designed, configured, secured, and performance-tuned to meet operational and security standards. - Ensure the product's network interfaces are engineered and maintained to meet performance and connectivity standards. - Ensure the Linux and network lab environments and QA lab systems are configured and maintained to support QA testing and Engineering Development. - Ensure automated test frameworks and tools deliver effective functional, regression, integration, and system-level coverage. - Ensure automated test suites are executed, monitored, and improved, with timely failure analysis and remediation. - Ensure technical documentation for Linux, network, lab, and test systems is accurate, current, and effectively transferred. - Design, configure, and deploy the product's Linux environment. - Tune performance and apply security hardening and best practices. - Troubleshoot Linux system, reliability, and performance issues. - Apply patches, updates, and configuration changes to keep systems stable and secure. - Build out and configure Linux and network lab environments (hardware, OS, networking, tooling). - Manage and maintain QA lab systems to support QA testing and Engineering Development. - Monitor lab health and remediate infrastructure issues. - Write and maintain documentation for Linux, network, lab, and test systems. - Document procedures, configurations, and operational guidelines. - Transfer knowledge to engineering and QA staff.
