Job Description

Experienced Critical Power Field Technician – UPS Field Engineer

Pearce Services

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and related critical power equipment. • Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics, test equipment, manufacturer documentation, and industry best practices. • Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and associated power infrastructure. • Respond to emergency service calls and restore customer systems to operational status while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. • Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and customer communications accurately and professionally. • Develop strong customer relationships through technical expertise, responsiveness, and exceptional service delivery. • Mentor junior technicians and support field training efforts by sharing troubleshooting techniques, safety practices, and technical knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting equipment from manufacturers such as Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB, or comparable critical power platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system failures.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned service territory, including occasional overnight travel as required.
