What will your day look like - Confirm coverage in system and verifies that both team and individual are sanctioned. Sends initial contact letter which also explains which benefits are available. - Obtain information necessary for claim to be established in the claims system. - Investigate to verify that injury occurred while claimant was participating in a covered event. - Analyze medical bills for causal relationship to the accident/injury. - Review Explanation of Benefits from primary insurance to determine obligation under our policy. - If appropriate reprice medical bills through the PPO network and/or use system to see if procedures were reasonable and customary to establish proper payment. - Issue payment to medical providers. Essential Job Functions: - Handles all assigned claims to a conclusion. - Undertakes a high volume of claims and maintains Customer Service standards. - Interacts with Carrier, Claimant, Health Care Providers, and Policyholders. - Handle all inquiries from claimant, insured, or medical provider regarding the status of a claim. - Comply with all rules, regulations, and laws regarding the payment of medical claim. - Process/move and maintain claims within the claims workflow and archival systems. Skills and experience that will lead to success: - Accident and Health experience preferred either in a claim setting or as a medical biller/coder. - Experience with working with third parties a plus. - Experience with the Microsoft office suite products. - Proficient typing skills necessary. Role Description The Billing & Revenue Accountant supports the execution and integrity of billing and revenue operations across the business. Working closely with Finance, Revenue Operations, Customer Support, and Systems teams, this role helps maintain accurate billing, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and audit readiness across platforms including Zuora, NetSuite, Salesforce, and Zendesk.
