This role is responsible for performing a multitude of accounting duties and analysis with consolidated financial statements, balance sheets and general ledger accounts. The Senior Accountant will also conduct monthly reconciliations, verify accuracy of general ledger accounts, and make recommendations for any corrections so data is accurate for decision makers and reporting purposes. Schedule: Monday-Friday, regular business hours Location: Occasional in-office presence required at our main offices in Eagan. The remainder of the work can be performed remotely within the states of MN or WI. Hiring Range: $74,000 - $80,000 annual salary People Incorporated Mental Health Services is the largest nonprofit mental health provider in Minnesota. Main Job Duties: - Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. - Maintain record of accruals, prepaid assets, LTD, fixed assets & depreciation records, and other assigned balance sheet accounts. This includes preparing, entering, and reconciling general ledger accounts monthly. - Develops, implements, and documents accounting processes and procedures. This includes implementation, reporting and testing of the general ledger interface for new subsidiary systems. - Maintain daily record of bank transactions, monitoring cash balances and assisting programs with questions about their check registers. This involves processing bank transfers in accordance with established procedures and partnering with bank representatives in resolving any outstanding issues and reviewing all supporting documentation. - Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in business with a major in accounting. - Minimum of four years of prior accounting experience. - Intermediate level knowledge of Excel with proficiency using pivot tables, lookups, and logical formulas. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience developing and editing business intelligence reports to ensure financial reporting requirements are met. - Preference given to candidates with prior accounting experience within a not-for-profit work environment.
