Job Description

Field Service Engineer – Millwright, Technician

FLSmidth

• Provide technical support to customers and contractors on FLS equipment during construction, commissioning, and operational maintenance. • Provide customer support by phone, email and remote support. • Work with sales and engineering departments to specify solutions for new systems and upgrades. • Review operation of new and existing installations and provide customers and engineering departments with recommendations for improvement. • Monitor customers and market for new opportunities and provide leads for the sales department. • Work with other team members to create continuous improvement of products and services. • Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations. • Provide training and development support for other engineers in FLS. • May be designated as super user or product specialist for specific products. • Works with engineering and project management in transition of projects from engineering to commissioning phase. • Gap analysis, risk analysis, scope of work and training requirements. • Provide feedback to stakeholders regarding quality issues and suggestions for product and process improvements. • Provide thorough and timely reporting of services provided and key issues to management and customers. • Extensive contact with customers. • Must be able to maintain positive customer relationships. • Expenditure authority limited to personal and team expenses and basic tools and parts required for assignments. • Works independently on customers sites without direct supervision.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in mechanical equipment support and troubleshooting and a Millwright or process maintenance mechanic
  • Bachelor’s Degree is a plus but not required.
  • Willing to travel up to 75%, mostly within North America.
  • Able to travel to Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean.
  • Able to obtain or possess a current Passport for travel.
  • Understanding and willingness to work in a mining environment where physical activities are required such as standing, bending, climbing ladders, lifting to 50 pounds, etc.
  • Must be willing to comply with FLS Safety standards and PPE requirements.

Qualifications - Successfully completed studies within Biomedical Sciences/Engineering (or a similar subject area), preferably within electrophysiology. - At least 8-10 years of professional industry experience in a similar role having worked with mapping systems. - Experience with Opal mapping is beneficial. - Strong communication skills. - Can understand and communicate complex technical and clinical details. - Professional working proficiency language skills in both Portuguese and English. Additional Spanish language skills are appreciated. - Can rapidly adapt to a very dynamic marketplace. - Strong team player, collaborative, and can build relationships and work cross-functionally. - Self-motivated and can influence others. - Flexible, adaptable but focused and persistent. - Willing and can travel extensively as required by workload. Role Description The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) will provide direct support to Global customers with a focus on customers in the assigned region. Support development and debug of products using Ambiq ultra-low power solutions. The candidate will assist in all aspects of customer design-in process and support customers HW and SW development through to full production. Will require traveling up to 50% of the time. - Work closely with Ambiq sales to support customer design-in activities starting from pre-sales activities. - Be an authority on low power design, and advise customers how to optimize power consumption at a system level. - Perform design reviews of customer schematics and PCB layouts. - Assist customers in use of Ambiq MCU software development tools. - Support bring up and debug of customer designs including software, hardware, and overall system. - Feedback customers’ inputs to marketing and engineering to shape the development of new ICs and reference designs. - Review customer software/hardware design requirements to understand current and future challenges. - Evangelize emerging technology and train/enable the sales team.
