Penguin Solutions
Role Description Penguin Solutions Professional Services provides essential engineering services for the integration, configuration, and deployment of complex, integrated environments involving high-performance computing, cloud, and enterprise systems. This position requires excellent customer service skills along with strong technical skills to install, document, configure, troubleshoot, and repair the deployed solutions. Most of the work will be performed at customer sites. - The individual in this position will work independently and as part of a team to build, install, and troubleshoot complex computer and network systems. - Provide hands-on deployment of Penguin Computing's solutions. - Perform in-factory and on-site racking and cabling, software installation, systems configuration, systems verification, etc. - Install, configure, and tune software applications and software-defined solutions. - Test and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues. - Participate in Penguin Computing's solutions development as it relates to implementation and deployment. - Participate in the development and delivery of documentation and training for Penguin Computing's solutions. - Participate in growing Penguin Computing's technical expertise through peer education and other means. - Contribute technical expertise to commercial and public sector sales opportunities. - Assist local technical support and repair engineers. - Fully document processes, procedures, and all work performed. - Lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - 3+ years of hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux server environments. - Experience with Linux TCP/IP configuration. - Skills with Linux md and lvm software RAID technologies. - Familiarity with other Linux basics such as systemd, firewalld and kickstart installation. - Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. - US citizenship required for this position. Requirements - Red Hat RHCSA or SUSE Certified Engineer or equivalent. - Skills with automation technologies such as Ansible or Puppet. - Experience with Linux-hosted virtual machines. - Experience working with software-defined storage such as Ceph and Lustre. - Familiarity with NOS such as Cumulus or Sonic. - Experience with high speed networks, like InfiniBand and Omni-Path Architecture (OPA). - Familiarity with accelerated computing technologies (e.g., GPUs). - Skill with High-Performance Computing (HPC) provisioning systems such as ClusterWare, Cobbler, xCAT or Bright. - Experience installing or configuring HPC job schedulers such as Slurm or PBS. - Proven application build, installation, and configuration skills, including familiarity with the GNU toolchain. - Security clearance or ability to obtain U.S. security clearance. - Ability to help grow a vibrant, leading edge, professional services organization. Location This is a remote position in the United States. Travel Travel up to 60% required. Compensation & Benefits - The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in the United States is $88,000 - $117,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. - The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. - There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
