Title: Technical Enablement Engineer Location: Austin United States Job Description: At Semperis, our mission is to be a Force for Good. Starting with being a great place to work. We believe that when people feel valued, supported, and empowered, they do their best work. That's why we focus on creating an employee experience rooted in purpose, growth, and balance. Semperis has been recognized as one of America's Fastest-Growing Cybersecurity Companies by the Inc. 5000, a DUNS 100 Top Startup to Work For, and a multi-year Inc. Best Workplace awardee. Position Overview We are hiring a Technical Enablement Engineer to assist with our technical enablement initiatives. You will own the development and operations of our hands-on lab ecosystem for Semperis products (e.g., DSP, ADFR, DRET, Lightning, Ready1, Migrator). In addition to lab development, you will assist in the coordination of internal technical enablement sessions across our global workforce. This is an individual contributor role that sits within the Global Technical Enablement team. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Technical Delivery, Pre-Sales, and Partner teams to translate product capabilities and real-world implementation patterns into high-fidelity, validated lab experiences that can be measured and governed at scale. Key Responsibilities Hands-On labs - Own the processes for our hands-on lab environment within Technical Enablement for all Semperis products. - Design scalable, repeatable multi-tenant lab topologies that mirror real-world enterprise identity environments and common customer deployment patterns. - Lead the technical implementation and configuration of our lab delivery platform (e.g., Skillable or similar), including integrations, templates, and automation needed to support complex scenarios and validation logic. - Define and maintain standards for network, identity, security, and data configurations within labs to ensure consistency and repeatability. - Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure labs keep pace with new releases, features, and architectural changes across DSP, ADFR, DRET, Lightning, Ready1, and future offerings. Lab Content & Scenario Design - Collaborate with SMEs to design scenario-based labs that align with real-world use cases: hardening, detection, incident response, forest recovery, and identity crisis management. - Translate exam blueprints and learning objectives from the Technical Certification program into lab flows, tasks, and validation logic that objectively assess skills at Foundation, Advanced, and Expert levels. - Define lab success criteria and build automated checks to confirm completion and correctness, ensuring reliable scoring for high-stakes exams and certifications. - Ensure labs are efficient to run (time-boxed), clearly documented, and usable for instructor-led classes, self-paced experiences, and partner workshops. - Partner with the certification program owners to ensure labs are tightly integrated into multi-level technical certification paths (Foundation, Advanced, Expert) for each product and audience (internal, partner, customer). Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership - Act as the primary technical owner for labs across Technical Enablement, serving as the go-to person for Product, Engineering, Technical Delivery, and Partner teams when lab capabilities are needed for new programs or launches. - Work closely with instructors and instructional designers to align lab design with course content, assessments, and storytelling. - Communicate roadmap, progress, and risks for lab initiatives to Technical Enablement and product leadership; contribute actively to broader technical enablement strategy discussions. Technical Enablement Functions - Create a repeatable process for delivering internal technical enablement training sessions that include partnering with Product, Engineering and Technical Instructors. - Help create creative enablement solutions for our internal teams that include gamification components to help increase participation. - Regularly review feedback from learners, instructors, and partners to identify usability issues and opportunities for deeper or more training scenarios. Qualifications Required - 8+ years of experience in enterprise IT with a focus on Active Directory, Entra ID / Azure AD, and identity/security in hybrid environments. - 5+ years designing, implementing, or operating hands-on lab or sandbox environments for technical training, certification, or customer workshops (e.g., Skillable, Immersive Labs, custom lab platforms). - Strong engineering and implementation experience across Windows Server, AD, networking, virtualization, and cloud platforms (Azure required; AWS or others a plus). - Proven ability to translate complex technical scenarios into structured lab experiences with clear tasks, validation steps, and success criteria. - Experience writing and maintaining scripts in PowerShell, Python and Bash. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred - Direct experience with Skillable or similar virtual lab platforms, including template design, automation, and results reporting. - Experience integrating labs with LMS platforms (e.g., MindTickle) and partner portals (e.g., Allbound) for seamless learner journeys and data flow. - Background in cybersecurity or adjacent domains (identity security, cloud security, infrastructure protection). - Experience supporting or architecting technical certification programs or high-stakes skills assessments (internal or external), ideally including exam blueprinting, practical exams, or performance-based testing. - Hands-on familiarity with Semperis product areas (e.g., DSP, ADFR, DRET, Lightning, Ready1) or equivalent identity security products. - Relevant certifications such as Microsoft identity/security, Azure Architect, or equivalent. Why Join Semperis? You'll be part of a global team on the front lines of cybersecurity innovation. At Semperis, we celebrate curiosity, integrity, and people who take initiative. If you're someone who sees the glass as half full, embraces challenges as growth opportunities, and values a healthy balance between work and life-we'd love to meet you.
