As a Hardware Engineer ll in the Accelnet hardware team, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, validating, and deploying networking acceleration for Azure Boost -- the largest deployment of FPGA SmartNICs in the world. You will develop co-designed accelerators for software defined Networking (SDN) in Azure Boost that includes packet processors, reduces virtualization overhead, and improves connection setup performance for general and custom networking protocols. You should be able to collaborate with both hardware and software teams and deliver these solutions. Responsibilities - Design, propose, analyze, and evaluate hardware architectures.Design and code RTL modules in System Verilog to meet area and performance constraints. - Simulate and perform hardware-based testing, debug, and verification of designs. - System validation using custom testers or in the cloud. - Scripting and basic software development in support of hardware design. - Apply Agile development methodologies including code reviews, sprint planning, and frequent deployment. - Handle a DevOps role with occasional on-call responsibilities for resolving customer issues in production. Hardware Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year. • Define and execute the hardware vision and strategy for smart thermostats, environmental and occupancy sensors, building controls, and monitoring products, aligning with overall business objectives. • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging the team to explore new technologies and challenge the status quo. • Partner closely with software engineering, product management, and other cross-functional teams and stakeholders to influence strategic priorities, ensure seamless integration, and a cohesive product strategy. • Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to production and post-launch support. • Implement and refine engineering processes to enhance and improve efficiency, scalability, stability, quality, and security of products and services. • Ensure that all required features, performance, cost, power, and reliability targets are met in hardware designs. • Drive design-for-testability (DFT) and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) best practices. • Lead hardware compliance and certification efforts with regulatory and compliance agencies. • Represent the hardware engineering organization to internal stakeholders, vendors, contract manufacturers, and external agencies. • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and design review oversight to engineers. • Define hardware architecture for smart building controls, edge computing and the related IoT ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration with cloud platforms and enterprise software systems. • Ensure high reliability and performance across distributed, multi-site commercial deployments. • Partner with software and DevOps teams to enable secure device connectivity, remote diagnostics, and OTA firmware updates. • Incorporate field operations feedback into product improvements to enhance reliability and serviceability. • Identify and mitigate hardware design, supply chain, manufacturing, and regulatory risks to ensure on-time and cost-effective product launches.

• Participate in the design, development, and operation of several key embedded software capabilities on the Lime vehicles and related products. This will include new exciting yet-to-be-released products too! • Be the voice of customers for engineering excellence within the team and influence team roadmap decisions. • Provide feedback in the peer review process and effectively communicate with technical leadership. Be the ambassador of industry best practices in this domain. • Own unique embedded software functions through design, implementation (in C, C++, RUST etc), testing, and integration in an embedded Linux or real-time operating system (RTOS) environment. • Learn and master multiple components including networking(LTE)/WiFi, motor control, Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates, and various sensors. • Write software to interact with devices/electronics using I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, etc. • Work closely with hardware teams to support board design, bring-up, and verification, as well as integration and testing during various phases of product development including proof of concept.
