Principal Electrical Engineer Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer, Electrical Engineering to serve as a technical leader within our electronics organization. Key Responsibilities (Technical Leadership) - Own and drive system-level architecture for electrical and embedded designs across multiple product programs. - Act as a technical authority in power electronics and embedded systems, guiding design decisions and trade-offs. - Lead by influence across cross-functional teams (ME, ID, Product, Manufacturing), ensuring alignment and strong execution. - Drive engineering rigor and best practices in schematic design, PCB layout, firmware integration, and validation. - Lead design reviews and technical deep dives, challenging assumptions and raising the bar for quality and innovation. - Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers through collaboration, design reviews, and technical coaching. - Identify risks early and drive resolution, ensuring product performance, reliability, and compliance. - Champion DFM/DFT and scalable design principles, working closely with manufacturing and suppliers. Technical & Program Responsibilities - Design and develop consumer product electronics from concept through production and sustaining support. - Contribute directly through schematic capture and PCB design oversight - Support DVT (design verification testing), EMC, and regulatory compliance (UL, FCC, CE, IEC). - Collaborate with Product Marketing and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. - Lead prototype development, testing, and validation, including interpretation of results and design iteration. - Support field issue investigation and root cause analysis, driving continuous product improvement. - Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective implementations. What We're Looking For - 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a strong track record at the senior/principal level - Deep expertise in power electronics (AC/DC, motor control, thermal systems) and embedded systems design. - Strong experience in analog and digital design, including schematic capture and PCB layout - Proven ability to lead complex programs through influence, not authority. - Experience delivering high-volume consumer products from concept to production. - Strong understanding of DFM, DFT, and regulatory compliance. - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to drive clarity across teams.
