Deine Aufgaben: - Cloud gestalten statt nur verwalten: Du planst, implementierst und betreibst moderne Microsoft 365- und Azure-Umgebungen – von Identity mit Entra ID über Teams- und SharePoint-Integration bis hin zu Security- und Compliance-Baselines. - Migrationen begleiten und umsetzen: Ob Exchange On-Prem zu Exchange Online, hybride Szenarien oder strukturierte Cutover-Projekte – du unterstützt bei Planung und Umsetzung und bringst dein technisches Know-how aktiv ein. - Device Management modernisieren: Mit Intune, Autopilot und klaren Richtlinien sorgst du für standardisierte, automatisierte Client-Umgebungen. PowerShell nutzt du pragmatisch, um wiederkehrende Aufgaben effizient zu lösen. - Security-Basics sauber umsetzen: Von MFA-Rollouts über Conditional Access Policies bis zu Baseline-Härtungen – du stellst sicher, dass Sicherheit von Anfang an mitgedacht wird. - Technisch tief eintauchen: In Assessments, technischen Workshops oder als 3rd-Level-Unterstützung analysierst du Ursachen, behebst komplexere Störungen und entwickelst nachhaltige Lösungen. Job title: Cloud Principal Engineer Location: Anywhere in US / Remote Experience level: 5 Years Compensation: Negotiable Role Summary We are building a new Cloud Engineering function to modernize our platform, improve infrastructure economics, and increase delivery reliability across AWS, Azure, and limited GCP workloads. The Cloud Principal Engineer will work in define the cloud strategy and execution model, build the initial team, and deliver measurable business outcomes across cost optimization, platform standardization, observability modernization, and application modernization. Why This Role Exists Our current environment is operational but fragmented across deployment patterns and cloud operations workflows. This role exists to create a single execution backbone that aligns engineering work with business priorities: - Infrastructure cost reduction and waste elimination. - Standardized, scalable Kubernetes-based platform foundations. - Simplified and cost-aware observability strategy. - Automation-first operations for non-production controls. - Application modernization toward stateless, Linux-aligned deployment patterns. Business Objectives This Role Owns - Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives from audit to remediation execution. - Lead platform direction for managed Kubernetes in a multi-cloud operating model. - Lead migration programs such as Kafka to Kafka-as-a-Service and ARM adoption. - Establish decision framework and rollout plan for Datadog alternatives. - Implementation of governance and automation for non-production shutdown schedules. - Partner with application teams to enable stateless architecture transitions. Key Responsibilities - Work in Defining the cloud engineering operating model and role boundaries across DevOps, Cloud Ops, and R&D teams. - Build and mentor the initial cloud engineering team and hire pipeline. - Prioritize roadmap initiatives into quarterly execution plans with clear owners and milestones. - Establish platform and automation standards for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD integration, security controls, and reliability. - Lead cross-functional programs that require coordinated cloud, platform, and application changes. - Ensure decisions are evidence-driven with transparent measurement and reporting. About This Team The Cloud & DaaS Specialist team is a specialized technical presales function within the Citrix DaaS product organization. We are focused on the successful adoption of our cloud services, specifically targeting the migration of on-premises workloads to Microsoft Azure. This team aligns closely with Citrix field teams, Microsoft’s own field teams, Citrix Partners, and our core Citrix Product groups. Our mission is to remove barriers to customer acceptance and adoption of priority Citrix DaaS capabilities, provide expert level expertise on cloud migration considerations in complex enterprise environments, and accelerate the consumption of Citrix DaaS and Azure resources. Responsibilities As a Cloud & DaaS Solution Specialist, you will: - Lead Technical Engagements: Drive the technical lifecycle of priority Citrix DaaS solutions from presentation through initial adoption, including delivering high-impact product demonstrations, leading architectural sessions, and managing Proof of Concepts (PoCs). - Provide Tailored Guidance: Act as a trusted advisor by aligning solutions to customer priorities, building compelling ROI-based business cases, establishing deployment and adoption milestones, and mitigating complex technical challenges in initial customer onboarding - Manage Technical Validation: Own the end-to-end technical validation process.
