The shift is Monday-Friday 8am-12pm and is fully remote. The Scheduler coordinates and schedules patient appointments within a healthcare facility. The responsibilities of this position include answering phones, scheduling appointments, completing patient registration, and verifying insurance. The Scheduler collaborates with clinic staff, leadership, and physicians. The Scheduler exemplifies the core values of the health system by providing exceptional customer service to all patients. Key Responsibilities: - Answer Phones: Answer patient scheduling calls, handle patient inquiries, and follow clinic processes for forwarding calls - Schedule Appointments: Schedule office visits and in-office tests, procedures, or services in adherence with department guidelines. Provide instructions and education regarding preparation for tests and procedures as needed. - Patient Registration: Collect patient registration information, including demographics and insurance information - Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility according to policies - Prior Authorization: Obtain pre-certification for office visits prior to scheduling as required by payor - Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, physicians, physician offices, the community, and internal departments throughout SLHS Quality Performance: Achieve target scores within set department metrics Skills: - Critical thinking - Problem solving - Customer service - Detail-oriented - Multitasking - Teamwork Education: required and/or preferred - High school diploma or GED Certifications: - None Experience: - Less than 1 year - Experience in customer service desired but not required Job Requirements Applicable Experience: 1 year Job Details Part Time Day (United States of America)

This role is instrumental in helping plan and execute key physician workstreams, from leadership meetings to physician retreats. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively with physicians and executive stakeholders, and brings structure and follow-through to physician-focused initiatives.
