• Comprehensive review of new and transfer file assignments with initial evaluation letter to claims • Summarizing discovery responses and medical records within 30 days of receipt • Taking and defending depositions of parties, lay witnesses, and expert witnesses • Completion of deposition summaries within 20 days • Legal research; preparation of motions, oppositions and replies to motion; court appearance at law and motion • Trial preparation, trial and posttrial motions • Preparation of pretrial documents, motions in limine and oppositions thereto • Managing assignments from managing and senior managing attorneys
Job Requirements
- Requires a law degree and admission to the bar in the state(s) where practicing
- Licensed in the state(s) where practicing
- 3 plus years as a licensed attorney with insurance defense experience preferred
- 1st and 2nd chair trial experience a plus
- Effective communication, persuasion and analytical skills
- Considerable automobile travel, up to 20% of work time
- Must meet established company standards regarding personal driving history and current license status
- Must be able to work independently with minimum direction and good organizational skills
