Role Description The Principal, Business Development Marine Corps will be responsible for delivering new revenue to TurbineOne through direct sales to the U.S. Marine Corps. Key responsibilities include: - Identify sales opportunities and drive leads into the sales funnel by directly engaging buyers. - Pitch our product with support from the Sales team. - Document the scope of work in collaboration with Solutions Architects. - Negotiate contracts with pricing approval from the Chief Revenue Officer. - Identify military leaders to help them become champions for TurbineOne’s product. - Contribute to the product & engineering roadmap through military experience. - Drive expansions with current customers. - Contribute to the company's overall business strategy and marketing positioning. - Translate national security requirements to Silicon Valley engineers. - Educate government buyers on tech industry best practices. In a typical week, you will: - Fly to a military base to witness our product being used in the field. - Host Zoom calls with military leaders to pitch TurbineOne. - Deliver live product demonstrations to convince buyers to spend government funds on TurbineOne. - Write a short Scope of Work document for T1’s Capture Manager. - Handle rejections from personal contacts regarding contracts. - Educate colleagues on avoiding large Defense contractors' products. Qualifications - Served in the Marine Corps for over 20 years of Active Duty. - Led major formations of Marines and served on senior level staffs. - Led technology-related projects for DoD to solve pressing problems. - Closed, signed, or negotiated at least one contract over $1M. Requirements - Geographically flexible for home-office and moderate domestic travel (~25%).
