The teacher will be responsible for: - Delivering engaging and interactive live virtual lessons aligned with the Texas State Standards for Mathematics for grades 6-8. - Utilizing a variety of online teaching methodologies, resources, and technologies to cater to diverse learning styles and needs. - Developing and delivering asynchronous learning activities, including interactive assignments, projects, and discussions. - Providing clear and timely feedback on student work to promote understanding and growth. - Facilitating small group instruction and providing individualized support to students as needed. - Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress. - Implementing the Stellar Virtual mathematics curriculum effectively and adapting instruction to meet individual student needs. - Developing and administering formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and inform instruction. - Analyzing student data to identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. - Collaborating with curriculum specialists and other teachers to enhance the mathematics curriculum. - Maintaining regular and effective communication with students and parents regarding academic progress, assignments, and concerns. - Supporting on-site testing events periodically throughout the year (required). - Responding promptly to student and parent inquiries via email, phone, and virtual meetings. - Participating in virtual professional development opportunities and collaborating with colleagues on best practices in online education. - Working collaboratively with student support services, such as counselors and special education staff, to address student needs. - Attending virtual staff meetings and contributing to the overall success of the Stellar Virtual program. Qualifications - Minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience, preferably in a secondary setting. - Experience teaching a range of Middle School mathematics courses. - Demonstrated experience in utilizing online learning platforms and educational technology tools. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment. - Passion for working with students and fostering their academic growth. - Residency in the state of Texas is required.
