Role Description The Systems Administrator will serve as the subject matter expert for Stellar Virtual's Learning Management System (LMS) environments and related educational technology platforms. This position is responsible for platform configuration, governance, user access management, data accuracy, and day-to-day operational support, ensuring a seamless and reliable learning experience for students, staff, and families in fulfillment of our mission of empowering families and unleashing potential. Essential Duties - LMS Platform Administration & Governance - Serve as the subject matter expert for all LMS environments, overseeing platform configuration, optimization, and ongoing administration. - Manage user permissions, organizational structures, account provisioning, and access controls to support secure and effective LMS operations. - Monitor LMS performance, platform health, vendor communications, and system issues to ensure reliable service and timely resolution of escalated concerns. - Ensure the accuracy of LMS data, including enrollments, course assignments, grade passback processes, and instructional workflows in coordination with cross-functional stakeholders. - Collaborate with academic and operational teams to align LMS configurations with instructional requirements, reporting needs, and organizational goals. - Provide Tier 2 support for complex LMS-related issues and ensure platform data structures support analytics, compliance, and downstream reporting needs. - Operational & Cross-Platform Support - Support day-to-day administration of adjacent educational technology systems (e.g., SIS, CRM) as they relate to LMS data flows and user access. - Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot platform issues and support ongoing system enhancements. - Maintain up-to-date documentation of LMS configurations, permission structures, and support procedures. - Respond to and resolve escalated student, staff, and family support requests related to LMS access and functionality. - Proactively pivot to support emerging business needs and strategic priorities directed by your manager. Qualifications - A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in systems administration, integration engineering, automation development, educational technology, or a related technical field, preferably in a remote environment. - Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure. - Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting. - Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity. - Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds. - Experience administering or supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS) at the platform-administrator level, including system configurations, permissions, and user access. - Experience working within a virtual, blended, or online K–12 educational environment preferred. - Experience supporting Student Information Systems (SIS), CRM platforms, or large-scale educational technology ecosystems preferred. - Familiarity with interoperability standards such as OneRoster, LTI, SAML, SCIM, or similar identity and rostering frameworks preferred. - Basic familiarity with REST APIs or automation tools (Python, SQL, Google Apps Script) a plus, though not a core requirement of this role. Success Profile - Platform Stewardship : Maintains a stable, well-governed LMS environment and proactively identifies configuration or access issues before they impact users. - Service Orientation : Responds to staff, student, and family needs with clarity, patience, and a strong customer-service mindset. - Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partners effectively with academic and operational teams to translate instructional needs into platform configurations. Education & Certification Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. - Relevant certifications in LMS platform administration or systems administration are preferred.
