Role Description Rex is hiring a Head of Media to build a durable, multi-platform media business around a personal brand, with a mandate to make that brand one of the most recognized, high-conviction voices in tech, real estate, and investing. - Build and lead a content production team, including editors, clippers, writers, and producers, so output scales beyond your own personal bandwidth. - Own a flagship long-form format (podcast, long-form YouTube interviews, or similar) that serves as the mothership for all repurposed short-form content. - Own content strategy and execution across TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube, running a deliberate, field-tested playbook rather than a reactive, post-by-post approach. - Build and produce video with full range: on camera, behind the camera, raw, and produced, matching format and tone to the moment. - Design and run a repeatable content-ops pipeline: raw capture, clipping, hook testing, distribution, and an analytics feedback loop that informs what gets made next. - Build owned-audience infrastructure, including email list and community, converting rented-platform attention into assets Rex controls directly. - Engineer and own the explicit mechanism that converts content into qualified investor and talent conversations, including lead capture, DM/inbound handling, and handoff to investor relations or recruiting. - Coordinate tightly with investor relations and the broader marketing function so every piece of content ladders up to attracting capital and attracting talent. - Pursue press, podcast guesting, and speaking opportunities that build third-party authority alongside owned platform content. - Own a production and paid-amplification budget, allocating resources across team, tools, and paid distribution to hit growth and pipeline targets. - Track and report on both traditional metrics (followers, engagement, audience quality) and business-impact metrics (leads, investor conversations, and candidate pipeline generated through the brand). - Read the field instinctively: what to post, how to post it, and when to push or hold, while maintaining full control of the narrative. - Operate with total discipline: execute fast, iterate faster, and never let a thread drop. Qualifications - 5–7+ years of experience building and scaling a personal or executive brand at real commercial stakes. - Direct experience building or managing a content production team (editors, clippers, writers, producers), not just producing solo. - Track record of building or running a flagship long-form format that anchors a broader short-form content strategy. - Experience building owned-audience infrastructure (email, community, or similar) alongside social platform growth. - Proven ability to convert content and audience into a measurable pipeline of leads, customers, investors, or talent, not just engagement. - Deep fluency across TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube, with an instinctive sense of platform-specific strategy and timing. - Comfortable owning a testing and analytics cadence: hook testing, retention analysis, and iterating based on data. - Experience managing a production or media budget, including paid amplification. - Strong narrative control: able to generate attention and conversation without losing the thread of the brand. - Thinks like a founder-operator of a media business: systems over one-off wins, pipeline over vanity metrics. - Missionary and builder mindset: fully aligned with Rex's mission and driven to build something durable, not chase a single moment. Benefits - Base Salary: Commensurate with experience and market standards - Opportunity for performance-based bonus and/or equity in deals and funds - Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) with company matching - Fully remote work environment

Head of Performance

Rex

Rex is a privately held ecosystem of entrepreneurial ventures led by Peter Rex, spanning real estate private equity, technology, insurance, and AI. We build businesses and investment platforms that generate both exceptional financial returns and meaningful societal impact. At the core of our strategy is investor engagement: attracting aligned capital partners who share our long-term vision. We are building the most compelling investor-facing ecosystem in the private markets. Our 500+ teammates are united by a mission to catalyze human flourishing: building, testing, and scaling tools that serve real people in the real economy. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: Commensurate with experience and market standards Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company matching Professional development opportunities to advance personal and professional growth Fully remote work flexibility, with occasional travel required

Role Description We are seeking a Head of Performance who will build the operating system for talent at Rex: a rigorous, standards-driven infrastructure for measuring performance, enforcing accountability, and continuously upgrading the talent bar. This is not a traditional HR role. You will not be optimizing for engagement surveys or employee experience; you will be optimizing for talent density, ensuring every seat is filled with an A-player, that standards are unambiguous, and that underperformance is identified and resolved quickly rather than tolerated. You will design the scorecards, calibration processes, and grading systems that make performance visible and comparable across the ecosystem, and support the recruiting engine that keeps a pipeline of superior talent ready to backfill every seat we upgrade. What You’ll Do - Build a Performance Operating System: - Design role-specific scorecards, KPIs, and standards so performance is measurable, comparable, and undeniable, not a matter of opinion or politics. - Run Rigorous Calibration: - Implement a formal grading process (A/B/C player identification, forced differentiation) across the ecosystem, ensuring managers surface true performance instead of avoiding hard calls. - Systematize Accountability: - Build clear, fast, well-defined processes for addressing underperformance, up to and including exit, so cutting bottom talent is routine execution, not a rare, dreaded event, built on solid documentation and legal review so speed doesn't create exposure. - Drive Continuous Upgrading: - Partner with leadership to run an aggressive, always-on recruiting pipeline so every seat vacated by a low performer is immediately backfilled with someone better. Talent density should rise every quarter. - Level Up Existing Talent: - Build targeted coaching and development plans for high-potential B players identified through calibration, with clear timelines and standards for moving into A territory. Upgrading talent density means growing people as often as it means replacing them. - Own People Analytics: - Build dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility into performance distribution, attrition quality (regretted versus unregretted), hiring-bar strength, and productivity: the same rigor we apply to capital, applied to talent. - Enforce Standards at Scale: - Keep the performance bar consistent across multifamily, real estate, tech, and insurance operations, resisting drift toward comfort, tenure-based leniency, or politics. - Manage Compliance & Legal Risk: - Own multi-state HR compliance as risk management, not the mission of the role, but a hard floor. Partner with legal counsel to ensure calibration, forced differentiation, and exit processes are documented and defensible, given the real exposure these systems can create if run carelessly. - Lead Change Management: - Communicate the shift to a calibration-driven, faster-exit culture clearly to managers and employees outside the pilot group, so the system lands as fair and high-standards rather than arbitrary. - Advise Leadership Directly: - Serve as Peter Rex's direct partner on talent decisions: who to hire, who to promote, who to exit, bringing data and conviction, not consensus-seeking. Qualifications - 7 to 12 years building performance management, talent grading, or workforce-upgrading systems, ideally in PE-backed, high-growth, or turnaround environments where standards had to be built from scratch. - Direct experience with rigorous performance methodologies (Topgrading, forced ranking/calibration, standards tied to real consequences) and comfort making and executing hard people decisions quickly. - Working knowledge of the legal risk profile of forced ranking and rapid-exit systems (e.g., disparate impact exposure), and experience building processes that move fast without inviting litigation. - Fluency in people analytics and HRIS tools sufficient to build dashboards leadership actually uses, not reports that sit unread. - A bias toward standards over sentiment: someone who sees clear accountability as respect for high performers, not cruelty toward low ones. - Real experience coaching and developing high-potential talent into stronger performers, not just grading and cutting. Sees leveling up existing people as a core lever, not a side project. - Working knowledge of multi-state HR compliance, enough to keep the company out of trouble without letting compliance become the operating philosophy. - Track record of building lean, high-density teams: "fewer, more capable" in practice, not just in language. - Genuine conviction for a high-standards, no-excuses culture: someone who finds building this kind of engine energizing, not exhausting. Benefits - Base Salary: Commensurate with experience and market standards - Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) with company matching - Professional development opportunities to advance personal and professional growth - Fully remote work flexibility, with travel required for investor meetings and strategic engagements Employment Eligibility Requirements Applicants will be required to pass a background check and reference check prior to their first day to verify their employment eligibility. For finance focused positions a credit check may also be required. We operate in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. At this time, we will only hire people who live in or will relocate to those states. We have a strong preference for Texas and Florida as the majority of our portfolio is within those states.

At the core of our strategy is investor engagement: attracting aligned capital partners who share our long-term vision. We are building the most compelling investor-facing ecosystem in the private markets. The role offers exposure to a uniquely diverse platform, combining institutional-quality real estate and high-growth tech ventures, all aligned under a singular mission-driven vision. About Us Our mission is to catalyze human flourishing through stewardship, serving people in all nations. We seek a transcendent impact, second to none, crossing geographies and making a permanent mark on history. We aim to uplift investors, foster flourishing families, create enduring trust, and contribute to a more beautiful world through our investments, products and services, and new ventures. Our investments are primarily in real estate, with additional allocations to tech, energy, and alternatives, employing a downside-protected, long-term approach to investing. We are grounded in timeless morals and seek to preserve and grow both investor capital and our own. The Opportunity Rex is seeking an Asset Manager to architect and enforce excellence across a scaling portfolio of multifamily assets. This mandate is for a top one-percent performer who looks, acts, and communicates as a fiduciary while operating with the hardcore intensity of a competitive athlete. You will own the performance of 2,000+ units, scaling that engine to 30,000+ units through disciplined execution and sharp commercial instincts. This is an execution-driven builder role for someone who thrives in bringing order to chaos. You will command respect from property management teams and external partners, holding them to board-level discipline through rigorous, data-driven oversight. You must be AI-fluent, leveraging emerging technology to drive operational efficiency and identify financial outliers. Your functional muscle includes 7+ years of experience in structured finance, with a proven record of placing agency debt and negotiating complex loan workouts. You are a front-line closer with the gravitas to sell Rex’s management services to ultra-high-net-worth investors and family offices. You must combine scrappy, zero-to-one hustle with the sophisticated communication skills required to navigate high-stakes lender negotiations. We need a hard-charging executor who is firm yet respectful, a watchdog who inspires excellence while maintaining the missionary fire required to build a multi-generational enterprise. Must be missionary to the bone, obsessed with the stewardship of investor trust and deeply passionate about catalyzing human flourishing through the built environment. Fully remote, with a strong preference for Austin as a home base. You will own the operating and financial performance of 2,000+ units today and help scale that engine to 30,000+ units over time. The mandate is simple: protect investor capital, drive NOI growth, enforce discipline, and create a portfolio that performs under pressure. You will own asset-level business plans, portfolio performance, lender strategy, and third-party management accountability. You will operate at the center of acquisitions, finance, property management, capital partners, and leadership. You will set the standard for how Rex underwrites decisions, measures performance, escalates issues, and turns fragmented information into clear action. You will build the systems, reporting cadence, and decision-making infrastructure required to bring order to chaos. That includes enforcing board-level rigor across property operations, identifying financial outliers before they become problems, and using AI and emerging technology to increase speed, accuracy, and operating leverage. You will also step into the field as a commercial operator, helping win and retain investor relationships by demonstrating sharp judgment, credibility, and command of the business. This role is for a rare operator who combines fiduciary judgment, structured finance depth, commercial edge, and athletic intensity. You must be able to push hard without losing trust, drive accountability without creating drag, and represent Rex with sophistication in rooms that matter. This is high-stakes work tied directly to investor outcomes, platform credibility, and long-term enterprise value. Must be missionary to the bone.
