Role Description Prometric is currently seeking a psychometrician to be a part of our growing team. Role Description The Scoring Assistant will join the Assessment Services Operations division and participate in the activities of the Scoring team that is responsible for monitoring and timely release of final test results on Paragon testing products. Main Duties - Authoring unique passages and test items for English language assessments - Completing item writing training packages prior to commencing work - Attending remote training sessions and ongoing training activities as needed - Reviewing and editing passages and items according to guidelines and feedback - Attending and actively participating in online item review workshops - Following test specifications and item writing best practices - Adhering to test security protocol and safeguarding confidentiality - Meeting content deadlines and managing assignment workload - Communicating effectively with the Content Development team - Working from a secure and private work location within Canada Qualifications - An undergraduate or higher degree in English, Linguistics, Education, TESL, or related discipline - Exceptional English writing and editing skills and ability to apply feedback - Ability to author, review, and edit English language assessment content across a range of subject areas and difficulty levels - ESL/EFL teaching and/or curriculum development experience - Knowledge of the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) and/or the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is an asset - TESL/TESOL/CELTA certification is an asset - Item writing experience is preferred but not required - Canadian citizenship, Canadian permanent residency, or a valid Canadian work permit Requirements - Start Date: TBD - Hourly Rate: Piece rates per assignment (based on $50 CAD hourly rate) - Employment Type: Casual, freelance - Hours of Work: According to content needs and item writer availability - Location: Home or a secure and private location in Canada Application Process The application process will include a screening task followed by online interviews for shortlisted candidates.
