Role Description
A performance marketing agency working with universities and nonprofit organizations is hiring an SEO Content Editor to help strengthen the quality and performance of long-form SEO content, program pages, and AI-search visibility. This role focuses on editing and optimizing long-form content (1,000–3,000+ words) and program pages to ensure it is clear, accurate, and aligned with SEO strategies that improve rankings, organic traffic, engagement, and visibility across traditional and AI-driven search.

Work within SEO-driven content workflows, collaborating with the SEO team, content writers, and account teams.

Ensure articles meet high editorial standards and support search performance goals.

This is a remote role, working with a U.S.-based agency and paid in USD.
What You’ll Do

Edit and refine long-form SEO content and program pages (1,000–3,000+ words).

Ensure content is clear, well-structured, factually accurate, and professionally written.

Optimize content to align with SEO strategy, keyword targeting, header structure, and internal linking.

Structure and format content for AI-driven search visibility using entity-based SEO, semantic search, and E-E-A-T principles.

Edit and quality-control AirOps-generated or AirOps-supported content.

Refresh and re-optimize legacy content to address ranking decay.

Use SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Clearscope/Surfer, Google Search Console, GA4) to guide edits and recommendations.

Maintain high standards for grammar, clarity, and language quality.

Collaborate with the SEO team, writers, and account teams to keep content moving through the workflow.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience in SEO editing, content optimization, or digital editorial roles.

Experience editing long-form SEO content and program pages (1,000–3,000+ words).

Demonstrated impact improving rankings, organic traffic, or engagement metrics.

Strong command of on-page SEO: search intent, header structure, keyword integration, internal linking.

Experience optimizing content for AI-driven search environments.

Understanding of entity-based SEO, semantic search, and E-E-A-T principles.

Proficiency with SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Clearscope/Surfer, Google Search Console, GA4).

100% fluency in English (written and editorial quality).

Experience working with U.S. companies or English-speaking teams.
