• Work with customers in technical discovery to help define requirements and deliverables for their use cases and help them to effectively utilize distributed GPU computing resources. • Identify and recommend the best tools for each customer, while building boilerplate and reference implementations that can be reused for subsequent customers. • Manage GPU clusters and coordinate with IT to ensure efficient operation of NVIDIA GPUs, utilizing technologies such as InfiniBand for high-speed networking. • Oversee the deployment and maintenance of machine learning environments using virtual storage solutions and distributed computing (HPC) tools such as SLURM. • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools such as Ansible and Terraform. • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to ensure seamless integration of ML models into production environments. • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of systems to maximize throughput and reduce latency. • Stay current with the latest industry trends in machine learning technologies and HPC to ensure the use of best practices in infrastructure setup and model development. • Document and maintain operational procedures and system configurations.

Role Description As a Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building Hydra Host’s first production-grade storage platform from the ground up, supporting the company’s rapidly expanding network of bare-metal GPU clusters. You’ll own the architecture, technology selection, implementation, and evolution of this platform, defining how Hydra Host manages data for large-scale, distributed AI workloads across global data centers. This is a senior, hands-on role for an engineer who has built storage systems for GPU clusters before, with deep expertise in both block and object storage and a strong understanding of parallel file systems, performance optimization, and large-scale orchestration. - Define, architect, and implement Hydra Host’s first production storage platform tailored for bare-metal GPU clusters and AI/HPC workloads. - Lead all technical decisions around storage stack design, from hardware infrastructure to parallel file system orchestration and performance tuning. - Select, build, and maintain storage solutions spanning both block (NVMe, SAN, Ceph, etc.) and object storage (S3-compatible, custom, or Ceph Object Gateway) layers. - Design for high-throughput, low-latency access, supporting large datasets, rapid checkpointing, and parallel access for distributed AI training workloads. - Integrate and optimize parallel file systems such as Lustre, BeeGFS, Spectrum Scale, WekaIO, or CephFS, ensuring maximum performance and fault tolerance. - Ensure compatibility across Hydra’s diverse GPU/OEM ecosystem, accounting for unique firmware, BMC/Redfish APIs, and hardware configurations. - Develop automation, observability, and management tooling for storage, focusing on reliability, scalability, and efficiency. - Act as a builder and architect: deeply hands-on in deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization, while guiding long-term storage roadmap. - Collaborate cross-functionally with GPU, HPC, and platform engineering teams to integrate storage with compute and network layers. - Interface with customers and product leadership to define feature priorities, performance benchmarks, and future enhancements. Qualifications - 8+ years of progressive, hands-on experience designing and implementing high-performance storage systems for compute clusters in HPC, AI, or bare-metal cloud environments. - Proven track record building storage infrastructure from scratch, not just operating existing systems. - Deep expertise in block storage (NVMe, SAN, Ceph, distributed block systems) and object storage (S3, MinIO, Ceph Object Gateway, etc.). - Strong background in parallel file systems (WekaIO, BeeGFS, Lustre, Spectrum Scale, or similar) supporting GPU or AI cluster workloads. - Solid foundation in Linux systems engineering, automation, and scripting for distributed environments. - Familiarity with BMC, Redfish APIs, and OEM server firmware for bare-metal management. - Deep understanding of AI/ML data pipelines: model checkpointing, data locality, and multi-tiered storage optimization. - Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills, able to translate technical decisions into clear architectural direction. Preferred Qualifications - Experience building storage solutions for large-scale GPU or HPC infrastructure. - History of technical leadership or mentorship, growing teams or owning a product roadmap. - Experience evaluating and managing vendor relationships and negotiating storage hardware/software contracts. - Contributions to open-source HPC or storage projects (Ceph, Lustre, BeeGFS, etc.). - Familiarity with confidential computing, secure data handling, or high-availability architectures.

Role Description The Payment & Billing Operations Specialist owns the day-to-day operational layer of how money moves through Hydra Host. You'll make sure every customer is billed correctly, every payout and reconciliation ties out, and every payment or billing issue gets resolved quickly. You'll sit between our payments product and engineering team, which builds the platform and billing systems, and our finance team, which owns the books, closing the gap in the middle that neither side is set up to hold. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role for someone who's comfortable digging into a reconciliation break, working a chargeback to resolution, and helping a frustrated customer, with room to grow into broader ownership as the function scales. You'll report to the Payments Product/Tech Lead and work daily with Finance, Customer Support, Engineering, and our Trade Compliance and KYC function. Key Responsibilities - Reconciliation & Operational Accuracy - Own reconciliation across our payment processors, customer billing, data-center and operator payouts, and the records our finance team relies on, investigating and clearing breaks before they reach the books. - Reconcile usage- and consumption-based GPU rental billing against contract terms and metered utilization, catching under- and over-billing before invoices go out. - Build and maintain the controls, checks, and playbooks that keep our multi-party money movement accurate and audit-ready. - Flag problems early, including settlement delays, fee discrepancies, mismatched payouts, and billing errors. - Customer & Dispute Resolution - Own payment and billing customer issues end to end: investigate, resolve, and communicate clearly with customers. - Manage the disputes and chargebacks lifecycle, including gathering evidence, submitting representments, tracking outcomes, and addressing root causes. - Act as the escalation point Customer Support hands the hard money questions to. - Billing Operations - Keep invoicing, contract terms, proration, credits, refunds, and renewals accurate across both standard and custom GPU rental agreements. - Run dunning and failed-payment recovery to reduce involuntary churn and aging receivables. - Coordinate operator and data-center payouts and settlement timing accurately and on schedule. - Cross-Functional Bridge - Translate between Payments Product and Engineering (what the platform does and why) and Finance (what they need to close cleanly and report accurately). - Surface operational problems back to Product and Engineering as concrete tooling and automation requirements, based on what actually breaks in practice. - Partner with our Trade Compliance and KYC function so onboarding, screening, and higher-risk transaction reviews flow smoothly into billing and payments. - Define and report key operational metrics, including reconciliation break aging, chargeback rate, recovery rate, dispute win rate, DSO, and time to resolution. Qualifications - 5+ years in payment operations, billing operations, or finance operations, ideally where you've worked between systems, finance, and customers. - Strong attention to the details of money movement; when you find a small discrepancy, you track down the cause. - Hands-on experience with disputes and chargebacks and direct customer issue resolution; comfortable working the queue, not just designing process. - Familiarity with payment processors and PSPs and billing concepts like usage based and metered billing, dunning, proration, and refunds. - Strong spreadsheet and data skills; comfortable querying data or willing to learn (SQL a plus). - Comfortable creating controls, playbooks, and automation where none exist yet. - Organized, detail-oriented, and discreet with money and customer data. - Clear written and verbal communication; able to work with engineers, finance, and customers. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with two-sided marketplace or multi-party payment flows (customer billing plus partner or operator payouts). - Familiarity with usage-based or consumption billing models, ideally in cloud, compute, infrastructure, or SaaS. - Exposure to KYC and onboarding, sanctions and restricted-party screening, or fraud and risk. - Experience as an early operations hire who built a function with limited resources and grew it as the company scaled. - Interest in or familiarity with GPU and AI compute infrastructure. Qualifications - Any Journeyman MEP Trade License or higher. Requirements - Evaluate and commission liquid cooling for GPU compute—CDUs, direct-to-chip cold plates, rear-door HX, immersion tanks, and chilled water plants. - Size heat rejection from real TDP data, not marketing sheets. - PDU/UPS/XFR/ATS/STS Medium Voltage to Low Voltage transformation, inversion, rectification, power distribution one-lines. - CRAH/CRAC/CDUs, hot/cold aisle containment, economizers, humidification, and supplemental cooling for mixed air/liquid deployments. - Spec piping for liquid cooling loops—routing, glycol concentration, pump curves, flow balancing, filtration, expansion tanks, and leak detection. - Thermal validation under load—delta-T, flow rate verification, coolant pressure testing, refrigerant charge validation. - Coordinate with mechanical subs, vendors, and controls integrators.
