• Design, implement, and tune fraud detection controls across authentication, trading, crypto, and admin workflows (e.g., account takeover, session abuse, high-risk account changes), and deploy preventive measures like step-up authentication, velocity checks, and risk-based friction. • Conduct end-to-end investigations using logs, SIEM, and data warehouse tools to reconstruct incident timelines, document findings for compliance/legal/regulatory review, and convert recurring patterns into playbooks and engineering requirements • Define telemetry requirements, identify gaps in audit logging and event schemas, and partner with engineering teams to ensure fraud-relevant data is accurately captured and correlated • Write advanced SQL/analytical pipelines, build fraud detection models and scoring systems, and monitor precision, recall, and model drift to ensure ongoing effectiveness and explainability • Analyze trading platform workflows for exploitable weaknesses, detect abuse patterns (e.g., restriction bypass, coordinated activity), and collaborate on remediation designs • Review and strengthen controls around crypto treasury/custody operations, detect wallet and approval workflow abuse, and support governance and transaction authorization processes • Build alerting/triage workflows, define severity and routing criteria, maintain KRIs and dashboards, and drive post-incident improvements to strengthen controls and telemetry
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in antifraud, fraud detection, security investigations, abuse prevention, or adjacent roles in fintech, brokerage, payments, crypto, or other high-risk online environments
- Strong understanding of authentication, session management, access control, MFA, and common account takeover techniques
- Experience investigating fraud or security incidents using multiple data sources, including logs, transactional data, and audit trails
- Ability to detect and analyze fraud patterns such as account compromise, suspicious sessions, insider misuse, social engineering fallout, and business logic abuse
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills; ability to work with large datasets and identify anomalies, patterns, and linked entities
- Experience with SIEM, log management, or similar analytical platforms
- Hands-on experience building or tuning fraud detection rules, risk scoring, alerting logic, or investigation workflows
- Experience with statistical methods or machine learning for fraud/anomaly detection
- Strong scripting/automation skills for data analysis, integrations, and prototyping
- Ability to work independently and deliver practical controls end-to-end, from analysis to implementation
- Good understanding of financial platforms, trading lifecycle, and operational risk concepts
- Awareness of crypto-related fraud risks, including exchange integrations, wallet operations, and approval workflows
- Strong written communication skills and ability to document investigations clearly for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Role Description Syner-G is seeking a Project Engineer to support the technical planning, coordination, and execution of capital projects across facility, infrastructure, and construction initiatives. This role provides engineering support, field coordination, technical documentation management, and problem-solving to ensure capital projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with program objectives. The Project Engineer works closely with project managers, construction teams, design engineers, procurement, operations, and client stakeholders to support design reviews, technical evaluations, field activities, and project controls.
