QA Manager

• Provide full oversight of the testing lifecycle across multiple teams and projects, defining and enforcing QA processes and standardizing tools, environments, and test coverage organization-wide • Establish and continuously refine QA processes, procedures, and standards for testing products before they go to market • Ensure scalable test infrastructure, and extend our testing capability into advanced domains including performance, security, and compliance testing • Identify systemic quality gaps and cross-team risks, run trend analysis on quality metrics, and anticipate issues that could affect release stability or timelines • Evaluate and resolve organizational blockers in QA workflows, balancing trade-offs and delivery timelines while protecting stakeholder satisfaction • Deliver executive-level QA insights — reports, dashboards, and strategic recommendations — to the Head of QA and cross-functional leadership • Manage and mentor QA Leads and senior individual contributors, fostering career growth, succession planning, and technical leadership across the QA organization • Distribute workload, set goals for QA Leads and their teams, and conduct performance reviews across the function • Drive continuous performance evaluation and improvement of QA teams — resolving conflicts, supporting morale, and building a culture of ownership, accountability, and excellence • Be the advocate for Agile testing and quality across the business, building quality awareness at every stage of the product lifecycle • Oversee QA engineers and Leads testing our products and implementing automation across cross-functional teams • Partner closely with engineering, product, and business analysts to shape requirements and comprehensive testing strategies • Participate in reviews of software requirements, design documents, and system architecture, ensuring testing requirements are addressed early • Manage and triage reported defects, and keep visibility over how features delivered by other teams interact across subsystems • Continuously improve and refactor our testing infrastructure and automated/regression frameworks to ensure reliability and scalability
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in software QA spanning both manual and automated testing of web and API applications, including at least 2+ years directly managing QA Leads, senior engineers, or a multi-team QA function
- Experience in the insurance or a similarly regulated, complex industry is a strong plus
- Proven track record establishing QA processes, tooling, and standards organization-wide, not just within a single team
- Experience navigating executive-level reporting — comfortable turning quality metrics into insights and recommendations for senior leadership
