Role Description The business is a boutique rapidly growing accounting firm based on the Northern Beaches of Cairns. The firm has been in existence for less than 5 years but has grown revenue nearly 5 times during that period. The firm is full electronic and online with remote workers already in place. Due to the growth of the firm and its clients, an opportunity presents itself for this new position. The clients are across a variety of industries and sizes and include: - Construction - Primary production - Legal - Retail - Tourism Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). - At least 3+ years of bookkeeping and accounting experience. - Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, Excel, and Microsoft Teams. - Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations. - Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and manage tasks remotely with minimal supervision. Requirements - Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable. - Perform bank reconciliations and ensure financial data integrity. - Process invoices, payments, and expense claims efficiently. - Manage payroll processing and compliance with relevant regulations. - Maintain general ledger accuracy and financial reporting obligations. - Conduct month-end and year-end financial closings. - Identify opportunities for advisory work. - Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports. - Preparation of individual income tax returns. - Assist in the preparation of entity tax returns. - Ensure compliance with tax obligations, including BAS, GST, and other regulatory requirements. - Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
