Job Description
Senior Manager UX Design I.C.
CVS Health
Role Description As a Lead UX Designer, you will shape the experience of complex, enterprise-grade platforms used by engineers, security teams, and infrastructure operators. This role focuses on designing intuitive, scalable, and high-value experiences for developer tooling, cloud platforms, and security products that power critical healthcare and pharmacy systems. You will lead design strategy and execution across cross-functional product teams, guiding work from discovery through delivery. You will champion user-centered design while navigating the unique challenges of highly technical domains—translating complex system behaviors, workflows, and data into clear, usable, and efficient experiences. This role requires expertise in enterprise UX, especially for developer, infrastructure, and security tooling, along with a strong interest in AI-enabled tools and design practices. You will leverage AI tools to accelerate UX outputs while applying strong design judgment, technical fluency, and responsible AI practices, in addition to helping define good use and application of AI in enterprise tools. The ideal candidate brings systems thinking, technical curiosity, and a passion for solving complex problems. You are comfortable working in ambiguity, partnering closely with engineering, and influencing decisions that drive measurable business and operational impact. Core Responsibilities - Design intuitive, efficient experiences for complex enterprise systems, including developer platforms, cloud infrastructure tools, and security products. - Translate deeply technical workflows, architectures, and data models into clear, user-centered solutions that improve usability and productivity. - Lead end-to-end design across the product lifecycle, including user research, interaction design, prototyping, and usability evaluation. - Partner closely with engineering, product, security, and platform teams to define problems, shape solutions, and deliver at scale. - Apply systems thinking to design across interconnected tools and services, ensuring consistency and extensibility. - Drive a lean, iterative approach grounded in experimentation, rapid feedback, and continuous learning. - Mentor and guide designers, advocating for best practices in enterprise UX, accessibility, and responsible AI use. - Align design decisions to business, operational, and technical outcomes, demonstrating measurable impact. Qualifications - 7+ years of professional experience in UX design, with a strong focus on enterprise or technical products. - 5+ years applying user-centered design methods from discovery through implementation. - 5+ years of experience in at least two core design disciplines: user research, interaction design, or visual design. - 5+ years partnering closely with engineering teams and influencing product direction. - 3+ years working in agile, lean, or iterative development environments. - 2+ years of experience designing for developer tools, infrastructure platforms, security products, or other highly technical domains. - 2+ years of experience designing for complex systems, data-heavy interfaces, or cloud-based platforms. - 5+ years of experience designing and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro, or similar. - Working knowledge of modern front-end technologies and design systems (e.g., HTML/CSS, React, Angular, Material or enterprise design systems). - Strong systems thinking, technical fluency, and ability to understand complex architectures and workflows. - Demonstrated ability to align design decisions to business goals and deliver measurable outcomes. Preferred Qualifications - Experience designing for internal platforms or tools used by engineers, DevOps, SRE, or security teams. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), infrastructure concepts, or observability/security tooling. - Experience working on data visualization, monitoring dashboards, or workflow-heavy enterprise applications. - Strong understanding of AI/ML-enabled product experiences or designing AI-assisted workflows. - Experience using AI tools to support design workflows, including research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, or content generation. - Experience advocating for UX within large-scale technical organizations. - Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. - Experience mentoring designers and elevating team practices. - Knowledge of healthcare or regulated industries. Education - Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Fine Arts, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Remote Work Policy This is a remote role that allows colleagues to work from home within the United States. Occasional travel may be required based on business needs, team collaboration, or key planning events. Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $106,605.00 - $260,590.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program. Benefits - Comprehensive benefits package designed to support the physical, emotional, and financial well-being of colleagues and their families. - Medical, dental, and vision coverage. - Paid time off. - Retirement savings options. - Wellness programs and other resources, based on eligibility.
