Job Description

Tax Accountant

American Addiction Centers

Role Description - Prepares and files sales and use tax returns for multiple entities and jurisdictions. - Prepares the annual sales and property tax exemption calculations and biennial tax exemption reports as required for the respective states. - Assists with compiling the necessary workpapers and documents used to prepare the federal and state income tax returns for all system filings. - Responds to ad-hoc requests, analysis and special tax projects, as needed. - Assists with tax analysis of Alternative Investments. - Performs tax research and analysis and document positions taken to support tax treatment. - Monitors and assists with the calculation of tax depreciation. - Responsible for maintenance and monitoring the various Department of Revenue sites and assists with all notices and internal inquiries. - Assists with the coordination of federal and state audits, including income tax and sales and use tax audits. - Maintains an effective system of internal controls that creates timely, accurate and complete financial reporting, promotes compliance with laws and regulations, and drives towards effective and efficient operations. - Maintains accurate documentation of process flows, risks and key controls for each significant business process and sub-process. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field. - Typically requires 2 years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting. Requirements - Demonstrated ability to produce high quality results and perform assigned tax activities in an independent manner. - Self-motivated, results driven and detailed oriented. - Strong analytical and communications skills, both verbal and written. - Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel. Knowledge of CCH ProSystems desired. - Ability to work effectively under pressure in a changing environment and manage multiple projects with short deadlines. - May require lifting up to 10 lbs. occasionally. - Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job. - Exposed to normal office environment.
