Agent
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for real estate properties and investment entities. • Oversee and maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with US GAAP. • Oversee daily cash reporting and post all non-AP cash transactions. Upload Positive Pay files and review rejected transactions for approval or reporting. • Lead complex account reconciliations, including bank accounts, balance sheets, intercompany accounts, and property-related accounts. • Support the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and variance analyses. Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate and timely data. Upload budgets into OSA. • Oversee property accounting activities, including revenue recognition, expense allocations, capital expenditures, and tenant accounting. • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and financial reports. • Assist in developing and maintaining robust internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance. • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, internal policies, and procedures. • Coordinate and lead internal and external audit processes, including preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. • Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems, including the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and other technology tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, data analysis, and decision-making across the accounting department. • Mentor and provide oversight of junior accounting staff, providing direction, training, and support to enhance team performance.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or investment firms. Experience leading/supervising a team of Accountants.
- Proficiency in real estate accounting software (such as Yardi, MRI, or RealPage), AI tools (such as Claude and ChatGPT), and advanced Excel skills.
- Advanced understanding of US GAAP, related party, partnership, and fund accounting.
