Staff Accountant, German Speaking

• Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. • Record journal entries to close books on a monthly basis. • Reconcile assigned accounts on a monthly basis. • Record invoices, obtain approval, and generate payments. • Manage supplier tax documentation, including VAT IDs (USt-IdNr.) and other required tax information, support contractor income tracking, and ensure VAT compliance where applicable. • Organize and maintain vendor records. • Coordinate with auditors for interim and annual audits. • Provide necessary documentation and support during audits. • Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting standards (HGB/German GAAP). • Ad hoc projects. • Crosstrain and back up other team members when necessary.
Job Requirements
- Fluent German (written and spoken).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in financial accounting or a similar accounting role.
- Understanding of HGB (German GAAP) accounting principles and processes.
- Familiarity with Hubspot, Ramp, and similar tools.
- Multitasking, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
