People Operations Associate

Carbon Direct

• Own day-to-day administration of people systems (Rippling, Lattice, Tilt, Jira), including continuous improvement through automation and AI-enabled workflows • Manage onboarding, offboarding, benefits and leave administration, compliance, and contractor onboarding and offboarding with accuracy and consistency • Serve as the first point of contact for employee People & Culture questions via the help desk and direct support • Maintain clear, accurate documentation, process guides, and internal resources • Execute and manage logistics for engagement surveys, performance cycles, and continuous feedback processes • Support the execution of company off-sites, engagement events, swag, and recognition programs • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce administrative friction, and improve employee experience

Job Requirements

  • Experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or Benefits Administration
  • Hands-on experience administering HRIS, LMS, and people systems (e.g., Rippling, Lattice, Tilt, JIRA, or similar)
  • Strong operational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and execute reliably
  • Proactive, improvement-minded operator who can streamline workflows, leverage automation and AI, and thrive in a fast-growing, remote-first environment
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation, process discipline, and data/spreadsheet skills
  • Clear, empathetic communicator comfortable serving as a first point of contact for employee questions, including benefits
  • Working knowledge of benefits and compliance basics (health plans, FSA/HSA, leave, COBRA, ACA/ERISA/HIPAA); vendor or broker coordination a plus
