Senior Production Manager – OSP
Consertus
• Plans, directs, coordinates, and/or budgets all internal activities related to OSP engineering and Broadband production services with a proactive management approach • Manages assigned client OSP engineering and Broadband production projects from initiation through final delivery • Collaborates with Project Managers to define project scope, identify out-of-scope activities, establish schedules, and ensure client expectations are met • Provides leadership and technical oversight for the OSP engineering team, including training, mentoring, workflow management, and professional development • Serves as the technical subject matter expert for OSP fiber network engineering, design, and construction deliverables • Oversees the design and engineering of outside plant fiber optic networks for residential, commercial, municipal, and broadband service provider deployments • Reviews and approves construction drawings, fiber routing plans, splice diagrams, and related engineering documentation • Ensures service orders are accurately interpreted and translated into engineering and construction deliverables • Oversees field survey activities and validates existing infrastructure for incorporation into new network designs • Manages all QA/QC activities for engineering and production deliverables to ensure compliance with company, client, and industry standards • Identifies and manages project risks, escalates issues appropriately, and recommends solutions to minimize impacts to cost, schedule, and quality • Coordinates with cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, municipalities, utilities, and external stakeholders as required • Maintains engineering records, project documentation, and design standards in accordance with company and client requirements • Develops, implements, and continually improves production workflows, design standards, best practices, and quality management procedures • Collaborates with Sales, IT, Finance, and Operations teams to support reporting, resource planning, pricing, and business growth initiatives • Provides timelines, forecasts, resource planning, and workload management across multiple projects and clients • Executes advanced engineering and production assignments requiring extensive technical expertise and independent decision-making
Job Requirements
- 8+ years of fiber optic outside plant engineering and production management experience
- 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering and/or production teams
- Strong background in OSP fiber network engineering, design, construction methods, and deployment practices
- Experience managing complex, multi-project workloads in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong understanding of fiber optic technologies and applicable industry standards, including RUS, BICSI, and NESC
- Experience processing service orders and generating engineering packages for construction
- Familiarity with GIS platforms, CAD applications, and fiber management systems
- Demonstrated success implementing project scheduling, production management, and quality assurance processes
- Strong understanding of customer, utility, municipal, and jurisdictional requirements affecting OSP deliverables
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, GIS, Urban Planning, Real Estate, Land Use, Telecommunications, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; or Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design (CAD), Engineering Technology, or a related discipline with equivalent industry experience required
